I've been to the one in Berlin which was amazing so perhaps I wasnt going to be as easily wowed a second time... This place was different, they take you to your table using a torch, Berlin they guided you but the torch showed your...surroundings which spoilt it a little. We ordered a round of drinks and had to pay there and then in the dark! One of our party had to go out to the bar area to pay which was a shame. Food was very simple and to be honest very standard and mass prepared' ie curry and rice. Not enough staff meant that using the toilet took way longer than it should. Still had an amazing experience, waiters were really nice, although on reflection euros each was too steep.

My friend and I were traveling throughout Europe, and we had heard about Germany's eating in the dark trend. The decor is nothing to write home about in the bar area, but I assure you that this is not why you come here. This incredible...experience starts with you selecting your menu for the evening at the front (I highly recommend being surprised made for a more interesting experience). Afterwards you are led to your table by a visually-impaired waiter. The individual expertly guides you in the dark, and then explains the process. Our food came out in small courses, followed by our main. It felt as though everything was amplified in the room. People whispering sounded as though they were talking directly to you, finding your silverware was an amazing experience in touch, and the eating experience is unparalleled. I cannot remember any other time when I actually had the opportunity to solely focus on the food when eating at a restaurant. The textures felt more vivid, and the flavors more robust. I truly recommend trying out this restaurant when visiting Koln.

The place has a very normal feeling in the bar area , not very well cured or special , Soon entering the dark portion of the place, all start to become more interesting. Various table for person are distributed around the room , a...single candle illuminate the room, soon all the guest are seated , the candle get turned off. At this point I can honestly say that the food take a secondary importance, because I was there whit a beautiful lady, and even her glowing eyes , were not able to shine in the total darkness off the room. Soon the mind start to get used to the ambience , all the feelings and senses start to become more and more alive, an experience that I never felt before. I would say , is definitely a place to Emotionally fell your partner in a total different way, that would be done in a normal restaurant . And by the way, food was positively good. Only negative point , the table were to small , and not very easy to reach your partner under the table Nice fun place, for an unforgettable evening!

Eating in the dark is a unique experience. The food was good although nothing to write home about. The waiters are great.

The restaurant is located at the outer part of the city center of Cologne. They don’t have a own parking place. The parking room is scarce that’s why it is good to plan some time in advance for finding a spot to drop your car....But you can get there easily with the public transportation too. Go there early because the “check-in” and the briefing before takes a little time. The restaurant is organized in two parts. The normal room and the “dark room”. The normal part is furnished like a standard pub in Cologne. The dark part is, well, you can’t really tell, furnished darkly. You order a menu by type. They have beef, chicken and vegan menu. But you don’t know the items of the menu. It’s up to you to find out. The dark part is pitch dark. You are requested to switch off all source of light; cell phone etc. The blind waiters from Africa bring you in and if you want to get out, for a leak or a smoke, they will lead you out. The dishes are interesting but do lack a little bit of quality. Part of the starter was a falafel with some sort of mayonnaise…. My beef was way too salty. What a pity. The service is awesome. These guys make a real show with a lot of African charm and they are hilarious.
