We have been ordering here for over 3 years and the food is consistently great and the ingredients are fresh. We typically order seafood stir fries, pad thai, pad see ew, calamari and other entrees...have tried a few soups and salads and special fried rice. All excellent with great ingredients. Have tried some specials including a tamarind fish which was great.I will say one of the chefs on the rotation makes a really dry Larb Gai but he seems to be rarely on so I won 't count that in the review. Normally the Larb Gai is excellent. Also the raw beef version of that dish which on their menu is called 'Goi Dip ' if you like steak tartare or carpaccio I highly recommend trying this here. Super fresh raw beef diced, with sour and moreish savoury flavours. Like a larb gai comes super chilli so I usually ask for '70% chilli ' that way its a bit of a kick but it doesn 't take away from the fresh beef and other flavours. This place is always busy for a reason!
It was almost 10 o'clock and we were on our home and was looking for a restaurant that serves rice. And found this restaurant near Kogarah train station. The menu looked really yummy and was already planning on what to order only to be informed that they would only be doing stir fry as it's almost closing time. Hohum. Sad. I actually wanted to try the crispy pork belly. But then have to settled for chicken pad thai and thai fried rice. Didn't wait too long for my ordered. When we got home, we immediately dived into our take aways. (in case you might wonder, we haven't had dinner hence the 10 o'clock take away). The fried rice albeit the small portion was really good. You don't need a viand to finish the entire container. The bits of chicken pieces was enough. The Pad Thai was good too. Though I would have wanted it a bit saucy or oily. The noodle was a bit dry but taste wise still a good pad thai. Perfect balance of sweet and sour. The price was not bad as well, spent $19.50 for the both. Parking is tricky as it is near the train station.
Excellent place for authentic Thai food. Reasonably priced. Visited it many times during my stay at Carlton/kohgrah. Service and lady at the counter were very courteous.
Have eaten here numerous times and have sampled there noodle dishes as well as their main meals. They have Street food section in their menu which you wouldn’t find in your usual Australian Thai. Noodles consisting of blood jelly, pink noodles. <br/ <br/ Tonight we have Seafood laksa, prawn laksa and vegetarian pad Thai which could have been larger in serving but tasty. The Laksas were more generous with the seafood one having a Mussel, prawns squid and a fried fish served with Vermicille. My preference for laksa is always a mix of Hopkins and vermicelli but mainly when having Malaysian. <br/ <br/ Satays , springs rolls and curries are always nice here as well. Give it a try even though some meals are foreign otherwise known as Authentic.
This restaurant is tops. The staff are all super friendly and service is quick. Serving portions are huge for what you pay. You never have to ask for extra vegetables as they put plenty in all their dishes. The dishes are flavorsome, non-salty, healthy, and exciting! Your popular lunch dishes are $9.90 and you get heaps!
