17th Street Crab House - Kokomo

What an absolute joy and treat to have this gem close to home! We have been here several times and the food is absolutely amazing! The texture, seasoning...EVERTHING is on point! I feel like I am walking into a New Orleans Mom and Pop shop with exquisite food! The owners and people that work here are so nice! Having this kind of amazing seafood in Indiana is such a treat is priceless, I hope they never close :

NOTHING compares, you MUST try! The best crab I’ve had was in Florida and that was almost 10 years ago! I’ve had plenty of crab since then obviously and have had decent crab…until this place. This tops all crab and seafood that I have EVER eaten! First thing walking in with my fiancé we were greeted with such warm welcomes as if I have known them for a lifetime. The seasonings and flavor are like no other out there. Its so good and has a slight kick to it, but not so much it drives those away who hate spice. I got the crab boil personally and the crab was perfect, shrimp perfect, potatoes perfect, corn sweet and perfect, egg perfect, and the sausage perfect! Not to mention we drove an hour to get there so its easy to be picky, but I have no complaints! Id offer a photo, but was too eager with it tasting so great I forgot to snap a shot!

Yum! I ordered the crab boil. I liked that the shrimp texture was right. The shrimp texture reminded me more of an Alabama royal red though a little bit smaller. It was not rubbery and off color like you sometimes get in chain restaurants. The crab was not fishy and cracked easily. If I got it again, I would ask if I can get the butter on the side because it was quite messy and they don't skimp on the butter. The seasoned butter is unlike anything I have tried and I could not figure out the blend of ingredients but it was packed with flavor. The staff were pleasant and fun. Definitely a must try and the next time I am in Kokomo on the right day, I will be back to try other things.

I love this place, I go all the time but their location changed over the street a little to 1135 17th street, it hasn't updated on google yet!
