With the few branches spread across the city, this branch at Bandra, Pali Naka is their first branch. The other one is on the Linking Road, which seems to be rather spacious and well furnished. But as a foodie, my hunt is always for a 'Value for money ' restaurants with excellent quality and quantity and this desire of mime gets fulfilled only in humble homely restaurants. This branch at Pali Naka has been renovated recently and has only five tables in all. I recommend to reserve a table in the evening as its a very old and famous restaurant in the area and gets filled quite soon. The list of dishes we ordered : 1. Patra Ni Macchi (Basa) 2. Bombil Thali 3. Chicken Sukka Thali Let me begin with the most yummiest first. The chicken sukka was simply top quality stuff made with supreme perfection. It was creamy with great blend of masalas and literally made us lick our fingers till the end. The chicken pieces were one of the softest and well marinated ones I ever had. The Bombil was crispy and crunchy on the outside and soft juicy within. The soul kadi (pink broth) was thick and made with actual coconut milk. The texture of the chapatis were homely and rice was soft, fresh and well cooked. Patra Ni Macchi was steamed to ultimate perfection, which retained the original flavour of the soft melting Basa fish. The green stuffing on it was blend of spicy and sour. Over all, A must visit restaurant.. Staff is helpful Update !! Visited here last night. What we had : Chicken Sukka thali 5 stars
One of the best chicken Sukka I have tried till date.We ordered bombil thali, patra ni macchi and chicken Sukka thali.relished each and every dish. The hotel is compact yet clean.manager is warm and friendly.will definitely visit soon
I had a lapeta Chicken(Tender chicken wrapped in chicken kheema to start with and ordered the sandwich bombil(Bombay Duck Filled with stuffing Prawns Malwani Style, manglorian Surmai fish curry, dry shells masala, and Neer Dosa(somewhat like pancakes (non sweet and 2 lime sodas salty and sweet both. The lapeta Chicken was fabulous as it was perfectly cooked and marination was till the core and tender chicken with lovely kheema too. The Bombay Duck tasted lovely too. Not that much of a fan of shells but liked it a decent amount. And the fish curry was awesome and tasted really good with the pancakes. Prawns Malwani was a 7/10 Lemon soda tasted slightly bitter, probably due to lemon over squeezed. Overall i rate a 8.5/10. Really good and friendly service. Place is clean. Seating area is for about 10-15 PPL maximum
Definitely a must visit place if you're a seafood person. The food is fresh and tasty. The place is always full. The bharlela bombil is a must have from their menu. I also tried the stuffed crab which was equally tasty a little more crab meat and it would be perfect. They would definitely get a five if they improve their chapatti and overall service.
Fresh Konkan food with thalis and a nice a la carte selection. We ordered the chicken kalamirch kebab which was moist, succulent and tender and the chicken was juicy and tender. We also tried the theesrio which had bold fresh flavors. The fried bombil was lightly dusted with semolina flour and it was moist and flaky and not at all oily. The Goan prawn curry was authentic with just the right amount of Solan and had nice flavor and textures. The dal thadka was freshly made and it had great flavor and just the right amount of heat. Small restaurant with limited seating but quick service and excellent food
