Chef Darius madon has curated the entire menu.<br/ <br/ They are Organic and sustainable. They avoid plastics, also things are made in-house. And they have great takeaway packaging.<br/ For serving the food they use containers made from sugarcane. Located at Ballard estate; this place is a bit pricy but worth the cost. <br/ <br/ Cauliflower Soup: think, soothing and classic. Blended with flavors of cauliflower. Recommended<br/ <br/ Glass noodles salad: glass noodles tossed with Grilled leeks, toasted sesame seeds brûlée lemon. The salad was real fresh and healthy.<br/ <br/ Pullman Sandwich: Consisting real fresh veggies and organic rucola pesto this sandwich pleased me so much that I finished the whole at once. Recommended.<br/ <br/ Chocolate chip cookies: They have very few cookies options but what they have is a must to try! Loaded with happiness<br/ <br/ Nutella toastie: Fell in love for the amount of Nutella it had. A normal bread toast toasted in Nutella can actually do wonders! <br/ <br/ Cold Nutella mocha: Again, it was a great chilled mocha. Highly recommended<br/ <br/ Iced lemonade: Was served in a very attractive bottle and tasted real refreshing.<br/ <br/ Sweet potato wings: Awesome, sweet and spicy, alternative for chicken wings. Vegetarians a must dish to try!<br/ <br/ Pesto pasta: Home-made Pesto tossed pasta was hot and soft. The pesto sauce was cooked very well.<br/ <br/ Ka-BOOM has boomed really very well!
What a fun little place this was!! I went here with a colleague as it is close to my office.. We ordered the Burrito bowl and the Irani Chelo Kebab with mint pilaf.. The food portions were very good and loved the burst of flavours.. The mint pilaf specifically went so well with the chelo kebab.. Try it if you haven't already..
A revamped version and curated menu is what one should look out for at KABOOM.<br/ <br/ The name kaboom is typically a synonym for an explosion.<br/ <br/ This place is located in bylanes of the hustle bustle of the ballard pier corporate area. This place was initially meant for breakfast and lunch but recently they have extended their timings till 11pm to cater diners.<br/ <br/ The director of this place had a vision of bringing American food truck culture instead they settled down with an establishment having the look and feel of a food truck, creating a very basic retro rustic ambience.<br/ <br/ The place has very basic interiors but thats how its meant to be for a take away joint with minimalist sitting option but whatever they have done is quite interesting . They have tables converted from old time sewing machines and milkcans . Also the electric switches are of those old types which can be seen at iranian joints .<br/ <br/ They initially had this daily special menu but now they have curated the menu to full time one.<br/ <br/ They have restricted their daily menu only to the meal boxes which they provide on monthly basis.<br/ <br/ The menu itself is very interesting and sound healthy which ,in actual also it is.<br/ <br/ So the menu and the availability differs in lunch and diner as they have all the items prepared fresh and hence are mostly consumed throughout the day. Also the dishes like shawarma are only for lunch.<br/ <br/ Got a chance to interact with the operations manager(Mr Harshal Tipnis) of this place to discover the interesting facts about this place and the vision the owner has about making healthy food tastier and on the lines of the UK famous restaurant PRET-A-MANGER. The fact that struck me the most was the ingredients that are used are the organic and are sourced from the frams nearby. They have put up the actual pictures of the farms on the walls. Even the cutlery and the meal boxes are organic and the cutlery is made from sugarcane molasses.<br/ <br/ The service is also very quick and the front kitchen,as i said is setup in a container for faster cooking dishes. Also they have a main kitchen inside.<br/ <br/ Though the restaurant has a very American influence for the concept but they cater a world cuisine which is clearly seen in their daily specials.<br/ <br/ The menu that we had goes as follows<br/ <br/ WATERMELON AND MUSKMELON SMOOTHIE, very fresh and got the original taste of the right blend of two fruits . Also there was absolutely no sugar added and thats the way they make it here. Fresh and natural.<br/ <br/ PAKCHOY RAMEN, this was a salad that i personally had for the 1st time in life. Although looking at it 1st it was like am I suppose to eat leaves . But after having the 1st bite it was amazing. The tender and fresh pakchoy tossed in sweet sesame soy dressing along with crispy ramen and finely chopped almonds. Probably this is the healthiest i had in my entire life.<br/ <br/ KALE SALAD, marinated chicken on a satay stick with organic kale and tossed in peanut vinaigrette . This is a dish which would definitely liked by non veg healthy eaters. Right amount of everything. Peanut vinaigrette dressing is something very rare to see.<br/ <br/ JERK CHICKEN SANDWICH, classic American favourite and one will never go wrong in opting for this dish. The sweet chilli and the home made ketchup are the dips one should definitely try. Its their signature dish too.<br/ <br/ VIETNAMESE BANH-MI, is a sub sandwich byt it has a taste which one may take some time to get along as the marination is mix of many taste. But once one settles with couple of bites its a dish thats unique to the taste buds. A recommended dish to try out here.<br/ <br/ PESTO PASTA, traditional spaghetti pasta tossed in pesto sauce. Tough this was the only dish which we couldn't enjoy because of the strong taste of basil .<br/ <br/ CUP-O-NOODLES, this was a absolute cracker and i bet there will be hardly anyone who will not like it. Its the childhood favourite and here they have modified it to add the soy broth which was so tasty and engaging that it left us finger licking. Would definitely go back and order it again.<br/ <br/ CHICKEN SATAY WITH PEANUT SAUCE, again the own version of the chef here. Though in mumbai what we usaully get is the chinese version of satay tossed in shezwan sauce but i would recommend to have this version which is mich more healthier and tasty as well. The peanut sauce was fresh and house made.<br/ <br/ CHOCOLATE OLIVE OIL CAKE, very fresh, smooth and just melts down the mouth and also the house speciality so grab it before it finishes as its a popular desert here.<br/ <br/ To sum the meal up we had NUTELLA MOCHA which as the name suggests mocha coffee blended with Nutella chocolate. This was a strong coffee and will give u a right kick of coffee and chocolate at same time.<br/ <br/ The experience here was pleasant cos of the staff and service . Healthy because of the way dishes are prepared. This establishment sits amongst the high profile corporate area of the city and it serves just the right kind of variety that many office goes will want and like. Thumbs up from my side and would definitely visit back .<br/ <br/
With the entire world on a euphoric journey on health food, here 's a restraunt that ensures Mumbai is not left behind. <br/ <br/ KABOOM focuses on healthy cooking, organic vegetables and simple flavours. Something which we need desperately in today 's time.<br/ <br/ So let 's begin my review. Lazy ones, here your dose.<br/ <br/ 1) Ambience 3.5/5<br/ <br/ 2) Food 4/5<br/ <br/ 3) Drinks 3/5<br/ <br/ 4) Service 4/5<br/ <br/ 5) Value for money 4/5<br/ <br/ So let 's begin my detailed review..<br/ <br/ 1) Ambience <br/ <br/ The places does not boast of great interiors, but somehow it 's simple very comforting. It gives you that old world Iranian Cafe look. This place is inspired by a food trucks that unfortunately are many on the streets of Mumbai.<br/ <br/ The kitchen is self sufficient and extremly clean. It 's an open kitchen so you can see everything.<br/ <br/ The another interesting concept is of using biodegradable stuff. Spoons, bowls, napkin, container, straws .. you name it it there. You can make out the genuinenity of the product with the quality used. Atleast there is a place that thinks of the environment first.<br/ <br/ 2) Food<br/ <br/ The food this place offers is very different than what is available. Don 't expect oily, heavy stuff here. The food here soothes your soul.<br/ <br/ Lemon water We were served fresh lemon infused water. This helps cleans the pallate and prepares you for the meal.<br/ <br/ Sweet Patatoes Soup This was delicious and trust me very light. The soup can get you full but not stuffed. If your on a herb spree then this is the place to be.<br/ <br/ Chicken Spring Roll The spring roll sheet are freshly rolled, procured fresh each day. The chicken stuffing was good but not really great.<br/ <br/ Grilled Cheese Sandwich The classic cheese sandwich with oyeee goyeee cheese. The best part was the homemade hot sauce and ketchup.. the hotsauce was awesome..... Sweet and gives you the heat at the end . Awesome..<br/ <br/ Veg Spring Roll again fresh rolled sheets with veg stuffing. Again pretty ok.<br/ <br/ Pullman Sandwich A great option for vegetarians. The sandwich is coated with arugulla pesto and then layered. Interestingly, even the veggies were tossed in the pesto and then used, making it delectable. <br/ <br/ Chicken Club Sandwich This is the mother of all club sandwiches. This first starts with a coleslaw chicken sandwich grilled to perfection. Then it 's topped with lettuce, chicken roasted breast, fresh tamatoes, fresh cucumber and then served with an entire egg. So you are supposed to squich the entire thing together and eat. It was delicious . I could not finish the entire sandwich. Worth a try.<br/ <br/ Chicken Sataye This was another awesome creation. Chicken thigh fillets grilled in an Thai sauce and served with peanut butter. This peanut butter was made in house with a strong influence of ginger. Recommended.<br/ <br/ Chicken wings The boneless chicken wings tossed with home made sauce. Honestly pretty ok for me.<br/ <br/ PokChoy Ramen Salad Great pokchoy served with toasted almonds, roasted ramen and a soy sauce based dressing. Perfect salad.<br/ <br/ Cup O Noodles Not those usual noodles. Different and very light. Great fresh noodles served in a veggie broth with veggies and a strong influence is soya. I would have preferred less soya here. <br/ <br/ Nutella Toasties Must Must try. Like the chef called it 'Sin on Bread ' . Buttered bread with Nutella generously spread. We were in heaven with this. The Nutella just ozzes out and the salty butter makes it match well with the sweetness. Must try<br/ <br/ Chocolate olive oil cake Light, flour less, gulten free, dairy free. Great cheat chocolate cake. Cause it cheat, I don 't enjoy it that much but still a good try.<br/ <br/ 3) Drinks<br/ <br/ They have a selected.section of drinks and would love them to have more.<br/ <br/ Watermelon and Muskmelon Smoothie The watermelon overpowered the Muskmelon.. but I am not complaining. <br/ <br/ Good Juicery this is a canned drink with fuzz. It was ok<br/ <br/ 4) Service 5/5<br/ <br/ The services was excellent. Prompt efficient and caring. They served you but don 't stand around you giving you enough space. Chef Darius was extremely kind and made us very comfortable. Thank you chef<br/ <br/ <br/ 5) Overall 4.5/5<br/ <br/ Very different than what I usually eat. The food was fresh could feel the crunch in each bite. The service was spot on. The food was fabulous. My tummy felt.good and light. <br/ <br/ Recommendations<br/ <br/ Nutella Sandwich<br/ <br/ Chicken Club Sandwich<br/ <br/ Pull man sandwich<br/ <br/ Grilled Cheese Sandwich<br/ <br/
