Thepoet last moments description seems live to me. My wife and daughter and our relatives and friends are eager to knows more about it.
In every official site it says it opens at 9 am, but I happened to be here at 9:40 and it was not open. They asked me to come after 10:30 am. The management here didn’t even allow me to wait in their compound when asked if I could wait inside. A bit disappointed with the management, but it’s definitely a great place to explore! A place where great bits and pieces of literary history lives on. The ticket was 20₹ to enter the museum. Taking pictures inside the museum is restricted, however you are allowed to click pictures outside the museum in the lawns and the courtyard if you get a 50₹ ticket. Your gadget is stamped with a sticker. Definitely worth a visit for literary folks out there!
The place is very beautiful and well maintained, but some parts are still under construction. The photography authorization charge is 50/ for ground floor, which I think is too much, because there is nothing much to see on the ground floor. And there is no photography allowed in the museum on the first and second floors. So photography charges should be kept accordingly. As it is the birthplace of Rabindranath Tagore, it would have been better to have some memorabilia of his birth and contemporaries. Mostly memories of his middle life and last life.
Maintenance is too good. All places and things are labelled. There is a peacefulness in everywhere. There is many people but there is pin drop silence also. Entering into this place you may proceed back to 100 years ago. Photography is strictly prohibited in the museum, outside photography charge is 50/ per camera/ mobile. Must visit for one time. Ticket price is 10/ for students(must bring your id card).
Really a landmark to visit... You'll be surprised to see the cultural impact and the vast knowledge of art culture... Definitely recommended to visit. Ticket ₹10 (if you're a student) Otherwise ₹30 And for photography of outside, additional ticket ₹50 (for everyone) Also it's just for information... No photography allowed inside the museum.
