The owner of this restaurant is very charming but overbearing. I had a nice lunch with a few dishes adapted to be vegan. However, but when I returned in the evening the owner was not as helpful and told me there was only one vegetable dish available and the owner did not provide the option of creating a vegan dish as the restaurant was busy. I ended up having an poor quality meal.
After so much walking and menu checking, we found this place. Greeted by a nice man. He offered a vegan selection which turned out to be very tasty. We would recommend visiting this restaurant at least once.
This charming restaurant is located just a few streets behind the bustling tourism center. True to its name, Mama is the chef here while her son works as a waiter. I informed him of my allergy and preferences, and he consulted Mama for special options not on the regular menu. For starters, I had stuffed mushrooms with tomato sauce, followed by a main course of stuffed peppers and tomatoes with rice. All the dishes were delightful! Unlike touristy restaurants, the servings here are just right, so there is minimal waste. Additionally, the prices at this tavern are very reasonable.
For my main course, I ordered tomato and paprika stuffed with rice, but the waiter informed me they were out of that dish. I wish he had checked before offering it to me, as I was looking forward to trying it. Instead, he suggested dolmades - grape leaves stuffed with rice. It took a while for the dish to arrive, but it was worth the wait as it was truly delicious. I would rate this restaurant three stars, mainly due to the slow service and difficulty in getting the attention of the staff. However, if you're looking for a taste of local cuisine and not strictly vegan, I would recommend giving them a try.
