Contribuisci feedbackMy family visited this nice local restaurant - nothing to complain but a bit room for efforts and fresher food level. So OK. Considering its super close - about 5min to the highway exit for a stop over ... sitting in a beer garden for a break while on the way to Holland... :-)
On a hot summers day we wanted to eat out, 5 of us, and so a phone call to the Schwarzes Pferd booked us a table in the bier garten. We were warmly greeted and shown to a table of our choice, menu's were handed out along with our drinks order. The evening was very warm but we had a very large sunshade as well as cold beers. The meal orders were expertly taken with 3 or 4 of us slightly modifying the choice from the description shown on the menu which was no trouble for our waiter. The food arrived and everyone was satisfied with the taste and the portion size and the beers continued to arrive as and when they were required, very professional. The time passed quickly, a sign of contentment and enjoyment and we all enjoyed an ice followed by coffees. Finally we noticed the time, it was getting late, our very enjoyable time at the Schwarzes Pferd was over and we happily paid up. As we walked out several of our group said "that was very nice, we must do that again soon". We ate out and we enjoyed it, that's how you measure the popularity of a restaurant.
We were a family group of 9 people with ages ranging from 2 to 80 so we immediately needed a high chair which was provided. We sought out many different meals for many different tastes and every wish was catered for. The waiter fell in love with our two year old and so we were treated as VIP's. Then our two year old fell in love with another customers dog and the evening got even more interesting. The meals and drinks were professionally served and the atmosphere within the restaurant was really friendly all evening. My tip is to always have a sweet little two year old with you and everything goes swimmingly. But joking apart, the restaurant is worth a visit and is finding it's feet within the Krefeld community.
We were at a weekend with several people in the black horse. for me it was a look back after more than 20 years. Previously, the black horse was mainly as a pub, in summer as a beer garden a grasp - a real cue fields institution: simple, deftige speisen, beer, skat.Today, the new pächter tries a straight hike between Yugoslavian cuisine and traditional crepe fields pube, which only works conditionally. The menu is truly plucky - a huge number of very crowded meats, but almost all seasons even the few vegetarian dishes do not come out at least without ingredients such as sauce bernaise. as a vegan one is here on lost post. the served food offered light and shade. the muddles of the Rhine art were ok, maybe a little bit a lot of celery, otherwise in order. the soap was dry, fried, the supplements (red cabbage, rags) served to taste as from the glass or the prey. The salat plate was a bit one-dimensional, dominated by iceberg salad and tuna. Here, something of the seasonally adjusted variation would have been nice (feldsalat, spinat, krautsalat, rotkohl - no hexenwerk, only what grows on the lower Rhine and the cache would be round). After eating the revealed some weakening at the spirituos this has been brought to the fore for a krefelder kneipe (although the operation certainly did not have a typical krefelder Köbes background) as far as ok. the toilets are new, the room is renovated. in the shankaum was a little bit awkward firelefanz (bunt blinking lights etc. - christmas stood in front of the door) but as far as it was okay.I am curious whether the concept prevails. a training in spirits, and a desisted card and the whole can fly.
We booked and visited the Schwarzes Pherd on a Sunday evening in the rain. The large winter garden was almost empty and so we elected to sit in the front room along with 3/4 other occupied tables. We were cordially greeted and quickly became our drinks as we perused the menu's. It was quickly obvious that the new management had a Balkan style menu although there were plenty of German and International choices & everyone could easily find a meal of their choice. The food was well presented and tasty & the side salads were also tasty. The ambiance, so difficult to measure and to achieve, was not quite right and will perhaps improve as the new management become more 'at home' in this old traditional restaurant. We did enjoy our visit and we will go again, maybe on a busier evening.
