Mostly because in the rest of the city, deeply rooted in Muslim culture, drinking a beer is not an easy task. However, Chinatown is like a free port. There one can drink not only beer, but also cocktails, wine, and whatever else one might find in its shops and restaurants. We liked the tables that Vinum Exchange had on the street. Perfect for sitting under a fan, having a beer, and watching the city's life pass by before our eyes. One beer led to another. It got dark and we thought, "How about dinner here?" And so we did. We crossed the door of the establishment leaving the heat behind and found a modern wine bar restaurant full of people enjoying dishes that looked very appetizing. We ordered several things, but I especially remember my Malay-style carbonara pasta. Very tasty.
After exploring Kuala Terengganu on a hot day, my body craved something refreshing and better than a beer in Chinatown. It was difficult to find a place to enjoy a beer in the rest of the city, as it is predominantly Muslim. Luckily, Chinatown felt like a welcoming haven with its assortment of drinks. We found a restaurant with outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying a cold beer and watching the city come alive. As one beer led to another, we decided to have dinner there. The modern wine restaurant we entered was bustling with people enjoying beautifully presented dishes. We ordered several items, but the standout dish was the carbonara pasta with a Malay twist. It was incredibly flavorful and satisfying.
