Kur-cow Barnwell Farm - Kuranda

The restaurant's website always indicates that it is open, and I even called ahead to confirm before heading over for lunch, only to find it closed. I was informed that it would be open during our visit, so we made the trip to Cairns for lunch, only to arrive and find the place completely empty. It seemed that the chef had just stepped out during the peak lunch hours. I definitely won’t be returning or recommending it for a weekly reservation.

We enjoyed the premium Wagyu BBQ, and it was simply fantastic. I've never tasted meat this delicious before! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and we even had the chance to feed the animals.

I had a concerning experience at this restaurant. There was a dog present without a muzzle, and it ended up attacking my uncle, causing him an injury. The owner of the dog didn't even seem to care; instead of expressing concern, she laughed. I would recommend making a reservation for weekend visits, as it tends to get busy, but based on this experience, I can't say I'll be returning.

Absolute must if you're a city person, not far at all out of civilisation yet when you get there is does feel like it's own little world.Free roaming animals, horse rides, ATV rides, dinner with a sunset, some very chill cows, and starlit camp fires to round it off.Birds, sheep, goats, ponies all very cute, the owners/operators are heroes that bring it all together.Accommodation is basic but you aren't supposed to spend it couped up in the corner, just watch the animals for 5 seconds and you'll get the idea, go, roam and explore.Will recommend to everyone, I know.
