Dizzy's Jazz Club - Kurunjang

I had the most absurd dining experience ever. We waited two hours for our food without receiving any apology. I understand there was an issue in the kitchen, but we were still handed a full bill, despite being served dishes that didn't match the descriptions on the menu—likely due to the overwhelming pressure on the single cook. When I expressed my frustration to the waitstaff, they offered me a $6 discount on a $92 bill. It was appalling. We do not recommend this place and will never return. They seem to think it's acceptable to operate their business in this manner.

First of all, the live jazz music was fantastic. It was a pleasure to watch such talented musicians perform. However, the food took quite a long time to arrive—about 1.5 hours in total, with the appetizer taking 45 minutes. The calamari appetizer was served cold, and the pork belly's crackling was not crispy. On the positive side, there was a nice variety on the menu, and the waitstaff were lovely. Unfortunately, the food just didn't meet my expectations.

For dessert, two options were out of stock, and the one I did get arrived with the ice cream completely melted. Adding to the frustration, we received the bill without any acknowledgment from the staff, even though the band was still performing and we were ordering more drinks. After that, we lost table service for our drinks and had to navigate in front of the band to get them ourselves. To top it off, at 11:15 PM, we were informed we had only ten minutes left, despite the band still playing and the venue closing at midnight. The band even expressed gratitude for our lingering presence. Overall, too many things went wrong during our visit, yet the management didn’t seem to acknowledge any issues, indicating this may be their standard operating procedure. I loved the band, but I’d prefer to catch them at a different venue. If you do decide to go, I recommend arriving after dinner and avoiding the cocktails.

This charming little jazz club might not have the most impressive exterior, but inside, it’s cozy and filled with delightful music! The staff are also very friendly!

Underwhelmed, overpriced and overrated.. We booked a table for 6 people to watch and advertised band who was supposed to play. We were charged $14 each entry for the band which turned out to be beginners from a local music academy, very disappointing. The menu is very limited and average, pricing is extortionate for what is served. Apart from that the staff were erratic and lazy, only visiting the table for the first 20minutes of the night. Would not suggest this place to anyone, melbourne is full of many more professional places. Wish I could have said better things I was looking forward to it, but it was disappointing.
