We were lucky enough to come back to Parkstone a couple of weeks ago ahead<br/ of the public distancing rules. It was a sunny bright morning so sat outside on tables occupied by several groups with for legged companions.<br/ <br/ Coffees were quick off the mark and enthusiastically served before our brunch order. Last time I ordered the delicious burger but wanted a healthier option so went with the Melbourne staple, the smashed avocado. Far from your standard smash this version came with generous amounts of smashed and chunky avocado, creamy feta, basil and seeds to give plenty of textural variety and more importantly taste. <br/ <br/ KD ordered the chilli scramble which she rated highly and despite not eating bacon I got to help her eat that) still thought this was up there with the best chilli scramble in Melbourne. It wasn’t shy on the chilli either which is always good to see.<br/ <br/ We treated our Mango Tango smoothie like a dessert and enjoyed sipping this in the mid morning sun. God to see this is still available on the take away menu which now includes household essentials. <br/ <br/ A must try if you are in the hood. <br/ <br/ <br/ Previous Review<br/ On Grand Final Public holiday we got in early to Parkstone cafe and we started the day with a couple of lovely super hot coffees, delivered promptly. <br/ <br/ The menu shorter than some but we liked far more dishes on the menu than we could order so ended up trying two sweet dishes off the breakfast menu and the cheeseburger off the lunch menu. We had the breakfast bowl and this can only be described as summer in a bowl, punchy flavours of passionfruit pana cota, fresh fruit, lychees, granola and chia pudding all tied together with a generous serve of smooth mango purée. All these ingredients worked separately and together, a really clever dish. <br/ <br/ We also tried the carrot cake pancakes which were delicious with plenty of spice. These pancakes had more of gingerbread feel, with perfect slivers of banana and wonderful seasonal fruits in between and we loved the ratios of ingredients to pancake, the remarkable stand out on this plate was the rhubarb, cooked to perfection and oh that flavour. This carrot cake loving foodie has died and gone to heaven on carrot pancakes! <br/ <br/ Savoury wise the Cheeseburger was pocket rocket with a thick patty, bacon jam, cheese pickles etc. there was a mild spiced siracha sauce as well and the accompanying chips were well seasoned and delicious. <br/ <br/ Interior wise we liked the booth table lighting and wall of faux greenery and loved the dog friendly outside seating down the side. If we lived this side of town Parkstone would definitely become our local.
Great breakkie and even better coffee. Easily the best breakfast/brunch option in the area!
Great corner cafe in Pascoe Vale, the brick and stone facade is really welcoming and the staff were very excellent.<br/ <br/ The coffee is from the very reputable and high quality St Ali and my latte was fantastic. For the food, I really enjoyed the Breakfast Bowl. The addition of the chia pudding with panna cotta and tropical pearls was so fantastic, the flavours and textures all worked together amazingly. <br/ <br/ Great spot for breakfast or lunch!
