Bagel everything on it was great.<br/ <br/ Their bake sale orders has 4 packs with discounted price such is good value for the quality of baked goods. <br/ <br/ Very happy with the olive bread, $9. Great coffee also available, so it's an all breakfast spread with free delivery over $25, with in 10km of city (very easy to spend).<br/ <br/ Downside is there is a lot of packaging. Their cardboard boxes are double layered and only 2 fit in a box. So while sturdy, it's a lot of waste to get the 4 pack of croissants.
Rating: 4<br/ Food: 4.5<br/ Value: 4<br/ Ambience: 4<br/ Service: 3.5<br/ <br/ Definitely can’t miss when you’re at Melbourne Central. Although service was a bit sloppy at times with staff not very welcoming, food was definitely a hit. The seating can be very noisy, but can’t expect much when you’re eating in the middle of a shopping district with people walking past. <br/ <br/ We ordered the Lobster egg benedict and the Smoked mushrooms and we loved this tasty experience more than any other visit we had at this restaurant. Would definitely recommend these two dishes. <br/ <br/ Lobster egg benedict (4/5): i loved the buttery yet crispy toasted milk bun, that complimented the creaminess of the kale hollandaise sauce and the semi-runny egg yolk. Although the lobster was the star of the dish, it didn’t shine as much as I would have thought, and could be better. On a good note, the lobster was juicy and succulent. The dish was a perfect execution of flavours used. <br/ <br/ Smoked mushrooms (5/5): I love ordering mushroom dishes since brunches get so creative with fusing this key ingredient with other exotic elements that you’d never expect would work together to make it glisten. Rustica did just that, with its juicy smoked portobello mushrooms. I’ve never had mushrooms this good, and they’ve done it justice. The golden hummus was very interesting and went so well with the mushrooms. I loved the hint of sourness from the radish and the different texture from the crumbly feta which counteracted the richness from the smoked mushrooms and gooey goodness of the poached egg. <br/ <br/
Sadly the menu has been reduced but guess that was to be expected! Had a nice time sitting outside with a friend having breakfast together and lovely helpful service would recommend 10/10!
Service overall good service but nothing too out of the ordinary. friendly staff. approachable and quick to serve. <br/ <br/ Food<br/ Earl Grey and Honey Panna Cotta 3/5 plentiful amount of granola with lots of nuts and seeds within the mix. Had a nice roasted charred flavour which paired nicely with the dish as a whole. The honey foam that came with it was pleasant, but the star of the show, the panna cotta, while was really jiggly, lacked flavour which was quite disappointing. Definitely needed the honey foam and the poached pear along with the granola together to make the dish complete, but I was hoping for more richness in the panna cotta, which this dish lacked.<br/ <br/ Brekky Salad 5/5 really enjoyed this dish. Each component was well presented and every component added another depth of either flavour or texture, from the juicy grapes to the popping of the pomegranate, to the smooth hummus pairing nicely with the well seasoned and roasted sweet potatoes. The black rice and quinoa also added another depth to the dish. The poached egg didnt do much for me but who doesnt like a beautifully poached egg in their brunch anyway? Certainly poached perfectly well though.<br/ <br/ Scrambled Eggs 4/5 overall the dish was nice with good bacon flavours showing through. The pumpkin bread was nice and soft, definitely can tell it was fresh. As a whole it was good but nothing too out of the ordinary or made it stood out from its competitors within the CBD. Still eggs were well cooked, not overly runny nor overcooked. <br/ <br/ Overall will come back. Great ambiance in the cafe and a plus that its within MC. Pastries look amazing as well. Had their coffee another time and it was nicely rich in flavour. Also tried a Reuben sandwich and it was a great hearty sandwich with great depths of flavour as well.
After shopping all morning I needed something to eat. I went for the French toast which was plated beautifully and tasted great. Was a little disappointed that my juice drink simply was one from a bottle.
