I would say four were extremely good, five were good. but everything was super fresh. nicely served. the chefs were super friendly, courteous, clear how to eat the elaborate dishes. a bit chat with us exchanged without being overlaid. the service was simply excellent. the place itself is intimate calm, with a small garden at the back. an unforgettable experience. thanks gion karyo!
The winter dinner course kaiseiki was from this world. each court completed. the employees speak English and helped to explain each court and each time went beyond and beyond to ensure that we enjoyed our dinner experience. I was really amazed by the culture of the waitress and cook, both of which are a long arc over us from the restaurant I believe symbolizes the contempt of customers on the Japanese life. it was humiliating to see that the culture still prevails in this time of the world. an experience that cannot be missed while in kyoto, highly recommended and will be the next time when I am in kyoto.
Best meal we had in japan. everything was subtle perfect, but surprisingly amazing. the chefs and the ambiente were noisy. very unamsuming due to the tourist location, but this place is a jewel. 9 times for a great price! we would have paid twice!
Without doubt the best gastronomic experience I lived in a month in japan. the personal does not speak so much English, but they do everything to explain everything to them. the personal is so gentle and professional. eating was simply amazing, amazing, a real Japanese experience, they can feel the zen in every dish, subtle taste, delicately cooked, beautifully shown. in love with this place.
We managed to reserve a table for lunch @5000¥ each. We were seated upstairs while there is countertop seating downstairs. Menu is 8 course Appetiser: asparagus wrapped in an egg layer, water shield, prawns Japanese soup : sea bass, spinach and yuzu citrus Sashimi of pike conger Mochi rice topped with sweet corn Grilled fish and assorted dish Mushimono : eggplant, boiled conger (eel) beans Gohan: hearth cooked rice Dessert : jelly from milk, red beans and fruit Good pace for the service speed, and atmosphere is quiet. My two girls managed to enjoy all the items.
