Additionally, they offer a selection of Indian beers to try, which was a nice touch. The vegetarian options were clearly marked on the menu. The service was prompt and efficient, though not overly friendly, which suited me fine as I was preoccupied on the phone. While one of the employees was chatting with another table, I didn't find the atmosphere to be unfriendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in Gion seeking vegetarian or Indian cuisine.
Visited this restaurant from convenience during the exploration of Gion and was a little concerned about the reviews. To my surprise, both the spinach potato curry and the other curry we had were pleasant both delicious and rice. A very limited menu (4 options) but was happy with the result.
The food was average, nothing exceptional, especially considering the prices. The staff seemed confused about what being vegan meant; they understood we didn't consume dairy, but then served us chicken. The restaurant's best feature is its location in the Gion area. I wouldn't necessarily return, but if you're in a rush, it's passable.
We had a delicious curry at this restaurant. The staff was friendly and helped us choose from the vegan options.
This was a welcome break from tofu and foods that may or may not be made with dashi. But beware...if you would like a refill of your tea, you will be charged an additional 400 yen per cup. Mind you, this is black tea (not chai) so 400 yen is already overpriced. My husband and I paid 1600 yen for plain tea!! Besides that, our bill was still about 400 or 500 more yen than expected (even with the extra charge for rice). Stick to water, watch your bill (which they do not present to you at the table--now I know why) and you will do fine. Enjoy the food! Aloo gobi, veggie korma and sesame naan were all very tasty.
