Restaurant La Gartempe

So, looking back through the reviews I see back in 2013 I was the second ever person to review this restaurant, back then I gave it a glowing report, since 2013 we have at least once if not several times per year (apart from covid) and I can happily say it is still just as great if not even better! Usually go with family but this time it was just my wife and I, we had a wonderful 4 course meal with wine and coffee for such a reasonable price, we are back in France at Christmas and will be back to the Gartempe without a doubt, thank you Rachel and Greg, see you again soon!

This is our go to restaurant, even though we are half an hour away, food is always really good and well cooked. Cannot fault it nothing is to much trouble and such good value

We ate here on a Monday night after long journey! Met with a warm welcome and smile by the owner! Had the menu of the day, wasn't too keen on the starter snails) but was told it wasn't a problem to change it for something else, followed by pork medallions with ample potatoes and vegetables. Dessert was chocolate brownie with ice cream for hubby and baileys creme brulee for me. All washed down with a couple of glasses of rose wine!! Excellent value for money!! Moving nearby so hopefully will be calling in more often!! Definitely well worth a visit.

Well worth a trip out to this little village for some Fabilos French food, including snails. Warm welcome given by the lovely landlady from Leeds.

Great place to go eat in the summer and sit on the terrace overlooking the river. Good quality food. Staff very friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to other.
