Returning from a meal in the excellent (nearly) La table de Laurenne on a Friday evening (it was late) we decided that a night capsule was fine and stayed for a few more. What a find. Great local crowd over all ages, wonderful... friendly bar staff, who (in contrast to many of their British compatriots) can mix a cocktail, make a coffee, pour a beer or a wine at the same time and don't have any complaining queues at the bar. Their skills in people and order management must be believed. The owner must be proud of the guys. We were perfect strangers, but there was not the smallest hint of them and us, and there was a wrench for leaving the hotel. La Fleche is a beautiful old town, a bit on the slept side, but this is a must if you want to see life. Everyone knows how to behave, and it has a fantastic atmosphere that is enjoyed by big males and grandchildren, with the former descent somewhat later than the last. Recommended and then some.
First day in La Flèche and looking for somewhere to lunch so stopped into Le Relais Henri which looks like a little roadside diner from the street. Cosy dining room, chalkboard menu and simply wonderful food beginning w the cod brandade. Between the 6 of...us, we tried the duck (best I've had), steak and fish. Dessert was equally good. We had the opera, salted caramel ice cream with sponge cake and a lemon tart which could have come from any of the best Paris patisseries. A must try if in the area.
The placed was closed down for several years and we had the nice surprise to find a whole new look, bistro, sporty and fun. The new hostess is very nice and friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. We had a great time...there.
Dined with a group of 15 in this lovely restaurant that has been brought back to life by the new owners. The food was lovely and the service was excellent. So pleased that La Fleche now has yet another fine eating place.
