Cafe du Port - La Forêt-Fouesnant

This restaurant is located in a quiet place with views of the old harbour. many seafood selection and some good value set menus. cooking is un-fussy, simple, but very tasty.

This small restaurant offers a two curs formula lunch menu for 15 or 16 euro. we all chose this and then we had a dessert from the basket to make it three courses. one of us had fish soup that, when it arrived, looked like a...Brussels of washing water but it was really delicious! two of us had fish rilettes that were beautiful, and the other of us had 6 oysters (that is really offered on such a cheap menu) our main thing was absolutely delicious. the fish of the day was cloged. I didn't tell my husband because I know he's a little warnful. However, this fish was mild and tasteful and he loved him. we made it point that the restaurant is practically next to the commercial fish market and was very fresh. it was served in a white cream sauce with lemon. one of us had the marmite de coquillage, which was served in the ground a selection of different seafoods in a pot with a creamy, garlicky, petersilien sauce. she smiled her through the whole amount! home made cream brulee for dessert. what is there not to like.

Had not planned to stop at lunch, only a drink as it was so hot, but this is such a nice place, on old harbour and along a very quiet road with great prospect. Super-value set lunch menu man had 6 oysters, I had...soup de poisson (can not resist despite the heat.) very nice, although one of the oysters looked a little milky, they explained that the 'grasse' (fat) are sometimes looking like this, but replaced them without problem. the main course was the star white fish in a sauce with sweet and noodles, completely delicious. friendly service and a relaxed mood, what could be better on a summer day? the interior of the restaurant is very beautiful with many paintings by local artists, if the weather is less favorable.

We didn't actually eat here but stopped for a cider after a longish walk. View from the terrace is good and you are away from the traffic of the village. Shame we couldn't try the seafood but menu looked delicious.
