When I walked in the place was empty of customers, outside of a lone Korean couple at a booth in the back and a group in the side room at a bigger table—they seemed to be regulars. As I waited at the front counter, a man with glasses made eye contact with me multiple times and never said a word. I even said “hello” and got no response. It was clear this man worked here and had time to find busy work in lieu of even saying “one moment”. Against my better judgement I waited *15* minutes and went over the menu at the counter a couple of times. Finally I was over being ignored and walked out. As I was walking to my vehicle the same bespectacled man rushed out and yelled to my back “hello! Can I help you?!” ? I told him no thank you and went to sogodong (sp), they were real nice there
The steamed bean sprouts were all dead, so it was tough to chew. It had no crunchy taste at all. It was too sweet, and I added perilla leaves to the steamed rice to make something like this. I don’t want to recommend steamed monkfish. Also, I didn't understand why rice was calculated separately. It's not cheap, but you have to order rice separately because it's a side dish... The pork bulgogi was smelly, and the radish kaktugi was too soft. Still, I paid a lot of money and enjoyed the japchae. The steamed dish had overcooked bean sprouts that were tough to chew, lacking any crunchiness. It was overly sweet, and the addition of perllia leaves seemed out of place. I wouldn't recommend the steamed monkfish. Additionally, I didn't understand why rice was charged separately, especially since the prices weren't low. You have to order rice separately because it's considered a side dish. The pork bulgogi had an unpleasant odor, and the cubed radish kimchi was too mushy. However, despite the high prices, I did enjoy the japchae.
I don't go by other reviews, I have to see for myself and I have to say I felt invisible for the first time at a Korean restaurant. The person who finally came and took my order did apologized that I had to wait so long. I didn't get exactly what I ordered, but the food was good. No one came back to ask if I needed more side dishes or tea or even if I was enjoying the food. I'm really not use the that. My stars reflect good food not so much good service.
You can taste authentic Korean food at the newly opened lunch buffet. If you are curious about k food, come to this restaurant!!! The lunch buffet is $17.99. Other than that, the 5 famous menu items are still the same. The lunch buffet is only available Monday through Friday, and the regular menu is served for dinner and Saturday. The lunch buffet includes Korea's representative foods such as bulgogi, kimbap, and tteokbokki served every day, as well as 30 other dishes. A golden mountain where you can eat as much food as you want!!! It's a shame that I can't eat it for dinner, but it's nice that there's a place in LaGrange where you can eat plenty of Korean food even for lunch. Plus, the owner and waitresses are so friendly!! I highly recommend it!!!
Had a nice meal, cooked some beef and pork kbbq as well as the Yukgejang Kalguksu. Everything was tasty. Did take a while because we had a big party, but they got it all done for us and we enjoyed it. Mainly: good Korean food. Nuff said.
