Great food like homecook by Grandma. Outstanding service.

Service was good but the chef salad was under par and the soup wasn’t hot

Bernini's is our favorite restaurant in the La Jolla Village. Excellent food that is reasonably priced. I love their chicken parmesan, their signature hamburger, their pizzas and always interesting specials. Lots of choices, all beautifully prepared.

A member of our party has a tree nut allergy and we asked the waitress that no tree nuts be put on their plate. We told her we would order food that was tree nut-free regardless. The waitress told us the chef does not like serving people with allergies! We had no idea what that meant, but we ended up being able to order our meal. I’m not sure if the chef held back on seasoning as well as tree nuts, but for the most part the food was bland and lacking seasoning and flavor. Overall, it was plain insulting that we were made to feel not welcome because we had a child with a food allergy (not their fault). Would not recommend or return
