Tamales Brenda's - La Jolla

We found this place thanks to the great Yelp reviews, and we were not disappointed! The tamales were delightful, the esquites were equally delicious, and the champurrado was perfect for this rainy night. Señora Brenda and her son make you feel so welcome, as if you were just dropping by your aunt's house for a meal. The prices are very reasonable. The food is delicious—thank you, Señora Brenda!

The place appears to be a house, and no one is available. I attempted to reach out for two days but received no response. It was a complete waste of time.

This place is truly a wonderful hidden gem! The atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. I had the hamburger, and it was incredibly delicious—you can really taste the freshness. Additionally, the tamales here are hands down the best I’ve had since moving to San Diego.

The BEST tamales in San Diego!! Family owned business. They are the most pleasant people and serve amazing food. There is a full menu, not just tamales. And it's all absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back!

One of my favorite late night stops! Brenda is so cute and sweet and makes all the food in her driveway! Perfect spot for a little home cooking late at night :
