The Shores - La Jolla

This restaurant is beautifully located in La Jolla Beach, right next to the Marine Room. It features an excellent brunch menu.

My wife and i had dinner here with our 2 kids and my goodness what an amazing dinner experience it was. We got sat at a nice table with a gorgeous view of the ocean. We had the Cioppino and the lobster pot pie. My kids ate their entire kids meal (a first) and I personally have never had a better meal eating out in my life. Without a doubt this is a place that should never be passed up.

I visited this restaurant to enjoy the beach, and I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. They had a happy hour, and I tried the tuna, which was exceptional—perfectly seasoned and flavorful. The happy hour special at $7 was a great deal. The fries were a bit larger than I usually like, but they were also tasty. The view of the ocean was stunning. I would definitely return. The service was excellent, and my food arrived quickly. You have the option to sit outside or inside, depending on your preference.

I made a reservation for a happy hour with eight of my employees. It’s worth noting that they only have happy hour deals from Monday to Thursday, and we happened to visit on a Friday—oops! Additionally, six of our party showed up, most of them arriving late. No worries, though! They had a lovely table set up for us on the terrace with a view of the sea. Our server, Cherry, was fantastic! She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. I tried the passion fruit mule, and it was delicious. Everyone at the table enjoyed their drinks. Since I had dinner plans, I didn’t want to overeat, but others were ready to indulge. Cherry and the restaurant did an excellent job accommodating everyone's needs. Two guests ordered from the children's menu for smaller portions, one opted for a beet salad, another went for a burger, and one chose the triple-decker sandwich (which they took half of for lunch the next day). I went with the butternut squash ravioli, and we also ordered a plate of fries for the table. Everything was served perfectly, and everyone was happy with their meals. I'd love to return on a weekday (not Friday) to fully experience their happy hour. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with a great atmosphere. We even spotted dolphins from our table! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Right on the sand, great sunset views. Fast service. Nice HH special. Food was good, very large portions.
