Bj's Brewhouse La Mesa

We visited for the Friday night prime rib special, but were disappointed. Both baked potatoes were undercooked, and when we sent them back, we were informed they were out of baked potatoes—on a Friday night at 6:30! My roasted vegetables were nearly raw as well. We asked our server for real horseradish three times, but it never arrived. Based on this experience, we likely won’t return.

The restaurant was severely understaffed. The food was decent, but it took a while for us to receive all of our orders. We also ordered additional items to take home, and that process took even longer.

I was not pleased with my experience this time around. It seemed the restaurant might have been understaffed, or perhaps our server was inexperienced. Our appetizers were brought out without plates, napkins, or utensils, and after a significant wait, we had to flag down the server to request them. Even then, it took a while for him to bring them back. Additionally, some dishes were forgotten, and we had to remind him about them. The Asian chicken salad had very few pieces of chicken and lacked flavor. It was my daughter’s birthday, and the service was so unsatisfactory that we ended up leaving without redeeming the complimentary birthday pizookie she received via email. Given this experience, I’m uncertain if I will return to this BJ’s location, despite frequently visiting Grossmont Center.

Food was great as usual . However, the menu was reduced from what I remember. If you like root beer theirs is the best.

Loved everything about opentable so easy and convenient. I also really enjoyed our servers and the food.
