We discovered ‘La Plume’ by pure luck. Driving in the hills. We found this place..with lovely panoramic vistas..in an upmarket restaurant…without the upmarket cost.! Very good value Italian fayre. Friendly staff , lots of parking. Only 10 minutes from Aleta..well worth the drive. Very good value for money.
We just stopped by for a drink but decided to try the salmon tartar and brochette, nice portions and delicious. We especially enjoyed the atmosphere and scenery, very relaxing and topped with excellent service. We plan a return visit!
We decided a second visit to La Plume was in order as we so loved our first visit earlier this year, 2023. We ordered a meat and cheese platter to start at €20 as we were 4. Meat was well laid out but three tiny slivers of cheese!! One of our group was a vegetarian. So that was disappointing. We recommended the entrecôte to our friends which they ordered and when it arrived, the silence said everything!! It was a small piece of very grey looking steak indicating this had been rapidly defrosted!! It was not anything like our experience previously this year. We should have sent it back to be fair but no one asked us how our meal was. We also noted that everything has increased in price in the last two months from menu of the day price to a la carte selections. Our choice of wine has gone from €19 a bottle to nearly €23. I ordered a pasta dish and was not offered any black cracked pepper or additional Parmesan cheese, and this dish was crying out for this as the flavours were quite bland. We can’t fault the service given it was a busy Saturday night but my husband won’t be booking a meal at La Plume again as it’s expensive and disappointing.
