Yesterday just didn 't turn out to be the best food day, but it did turn out to be one of the best ambiance days. My husband 's hamburger was like extremely finely ground meat loaf. I think they were trying to make it an upscale hamburger...patty and perhaps it didn 't turn out quite as they 'd planned. It was NOT bad just a strange kind of texture. Caveat: My husband is a very plain eater and dislikes almost all foods unless it 's completely clear to him exactly what it is visually; like, a pork chop, a potato, and some broccoli florets. That is what is good to him. So take that under consideration though I will taste his food before reviewing it here. I had an arugula salad and it was just fine. As in, perfectly average. Nothing special about it. Nothing bad about it either. Not at all. It had some goat cheese and some grapefruit slices and a vinagrette dressing. I would have liked a fish taco from McFishers more, I must confess. On the upside, the service was great, our serving guy was lovely and so was the space. There is a fountain with a bunch of turtles in it!
It is rather easy to overlook or miss this little treasure of a restaurant near the big domed cathedral in LaPaz. We found it to be delightful with wonderful ambience, great food, good service and excellent coffee!! A unique feature is a garden area with...a pond full of turtles. We highly recommend this place for breakfast or lunch any day. I believe they close at 6 p.m. so they do not serve dinner at this time.
We had an excellent breakfast here, very authentic. Excellent service and fresh food. I had the red chicken chilaquiles and they were delicious.
5 years later after my first review, here I am back with my family enjoying marmolera delicious breakfast. service is still outstanding and fast. so happy to be here!
