El Cantarito - La Porte

I got a taco salad. I used 5 napkins to try and soak up the grease. My taco bowl was soggy. There was barely any lettuce and when I used my fork to scoop a bite it dripped like soup!

Great menu and food has always been good. Sometimes the service is slow but usually good.

My favorite Mexican Restaurant in LaPorte! The food is great. I ordered the Tacos De Birria absolutely delicious! The staff is always so friendly! A great place for entertaining friends or family for lunch or dinner.

My husband and I went to El Cantarito for dinner. We had a 40-minute wait for a table. While we were waiting, my husband asked at the front counter if they took reservations. He was told, It depends who you talk to. Some minutes later, a person with a family party came up to the front counter to complain about how long they had been waiting. The female manager was rude to the customer and told him it wasn 't the restaurant 's fault because one of the large parties who had been seated ahead of them had a reservation. (Either you take reservations or you don 't...and you let it be known to all customers. As the complaining party was leaving, one member of the party came up to the counter and slammed down a large strawberry margarita. Some spilled out on the counter. A male employee picked up the glass of margarita and threw the rest of it on the customer, with spillage going on my husband and myself. We were then seated for dinner. We assumed the employee had been fired, but he was not. He continued working as we were eating our dinner. Our dinner was comped, but the manager never made an effort to apologize to us. We will never return. This restaurant is definitely mismanaged. In contrast, we have never had any problems at the El Cantarito restaurant in Michigan City.

Ordered to go.Still Waiting an hour after my order should have been done. The phone is ALWAYS disconnected. If the food wasn't good we'd probably never come back.
