My husband and I were driving by this little village and saw the open sign and decided to stop by for a glass of wine. The owner of the resturant and his friends and family were also enjoying the beautiful weather and wonderful local winens in the backgarden. We only had wine since the kitchen was closed. The owner mentioned the available rooms for the night. The room was on the top floor of an old house. It was a beautiful room that could accomidate 4 . With the modern washroom and shower, the ceiling and the stair case was from probably 150 years ago. Absolutely beautiful. I wish that we could 2 nights. Over all, we had a lovely experience.
The Le Fourneau has been going for 23 years and we go every year from his second year this being our 25th visit, we have a Maison secondarie in a nearby village Le Fourneau is a great place to entertain friends we took friends travelling through and It was a great place to dine Nicholas the owner is a cross between Basil Fawty and Manuel he will translate the menu for you with actions, sound effects and humour . The cooking done by his wife is very good and although a little expensive the four course meal for 24€ meant you knew what your bill would be 5 people 164€ including drinks . We visit every year sometimes more than once and we will return again. I ate a dozen snails, duck, with beans, stuffed tomato, and rosti potatoes, cheese course coconut sponge on a berry collie and vanilla custard Other dishes included fish of the day Cod in champagne sauce, Faux fillet steak, and desserts included chocolate fondant on vanilla custard, poached Pear in red wine with vanilla ice cream or tiramisu or nougat ice cream. Thank you Nicholas you are always welcoming
We found this hidden heaven in our 2015 visit to France . This year we took my husband’s mother . The food is delicious, I’d say one of those places that I’d always remember and crave. The owner husband and wife) go above and beyond to help out with whatever you need help with. They also run a bed and breakfast cross from the restaurant
This was our second visit, once for lunch quite a while ago and this time for an evening meal. We sat in the gardens for an aperitif and then moved onto the terrace for the meal. Food was good, simple and reasonably priced. Aperatif, 4 course meal and 2 bottles of wine for 4 160€.
