Madame is a very welcoming host and their menu du jour is excellent value. I splashed out a bit and had the 25 euros set menu which included very good chèvre parcels in filo pasty with lardons, a perfectly cooked and generous size entrecôte and a creamy creme brûlée with that crusty sugar top which sticks to your teeth. 50 cl white wine by the pichet is 15 euros and they have a few tables outside with shades which makes it all th more enjoyable. Not sure why they changed their name from Le Bordeaux to Rouge et Noir but it seems to be the same staff and is just as good.
On a Tuesday in August when most restuaranteurs have followed their clientele to the beach, this is one of the few open for lunch. At 14 euros for three courses it's pretty good. Service with a smile9 you need to try that franglais). basic cheese , lardons gessiers salad, a lovely piece of merlu the French use a lot of hake and chapeau to them as most people couldn't tell the difference between that and cod even if they say they can), in a spinach sauce with wild rice and a stuffed courgette, a plate of two local cheeses, all excellent. The interior feels like a cafe because the decor is not exactly intimate but for a good lunch its a as good as any.
