Last visited the evening after a slightly tricky phone reservation experience is my French limited and the person at the other end of the phone did not speak English, but they were very helpful and talked slowly to help me find out! we. were on a ski tour in le bez, so just a few minutes to foot. they made a limited menu for Wednesday two options for starters, two for dessert and a main course of pork cooked on a spit over an open fire in the main restaurant. very welcome when we arrived and spoke English of the waiter. all arrived in about 20 minutes and then the appetizers arrived around the same time as the pig was wrapped and brought into the kitchen for carving. each table was then served with a dish with a mixture of pork that was delicious, and the most amazing creamy cartoa in gravy (I think there was also salate or veg, but can not remember how it was from the rest of the darkened! They also came around with second pork and kartoffel that went down a tasty bite. other courses were also delicious, but the pig was the winner overall. Nepalese chef was very happy and friendly, as was the waiter and overall it was a really pleasant evening.
Extremely warm welcome from the Nepalese/Franco hosts. Charming atmosphere and plenty of fondue and wine. What more could you want from a small restaurant in the Alps? We polished off some good ice cream and frozen nougat as well! Plenty of choice on the menu...including local specialities and nepalese food.
Very good entrecôte for two. that dessert: crème brûlée was also good. only the wee is a little bad, so, keep it through koks or beer
A mix of great traditional French cuisine and Nepalese dishes, served in what looks like a refurbed cave in the hamlet of Le Bez. A really cosy comfortable atmosphere. Great steaks cooked on an indoor barbecue as are the traditional Nepalese sausages. the menu is...quite small but varied enough so that there really is something to suit all tastes. The staff (both of them excluding the chef) are exceptionally friendly and attentive. It can take about 30 covers at any one time so if it's a traditionally busy (weekend) night then booking would be advisable. Well worth a visit if you are ever in Serre Chevalier.
