Melanie's Grill - La Vernia

Worst service EVER!!!I only saw my waitress when she took our order and when she brought the food out. Our glasses stayed empty. Ordered Mexican food and no tortillas were brought to the table no matter how many times we had to ask a different waitress. Was told many times we will get your waitress, never saw her after food delivered. Let not mention chips being brought to the table, our waitress was gone. Spoke to manager and was told she would get was another waitress but, no one came. The kids kept stating they were thirsty.Next time I will ask to sit at the blonde waitress’ table she was going to her tables six and seven times to see if they needed help.

First time at Melanie’s. Chips and salsa are good. Tried the Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and white gravy and house salad with Ranch dressing. Salad and mashed potatoes were good. The Chicken Fried Steak was tough and too much breading. If you can’t cut it with a fork it’s too tough! Will try Melanie’s again too see if any of the other items on the menu are better tasting!

The restaurant has nice decor. The service was very slow. Took us forever to get waited on. However, the waitress did apologize, saying it was graduation, and a lot of people were off. We started with Queso Funmada. The cheese was broiled to the plated and was very chewy. I ordered soup and salad. The soup was room temperature. The salad was basically a couple of handfuls from a bag of iceberg lettuce, one cucumber, one sliver of purple onion. My husband got a crispy taco plate. The hamburger meat was cold. I left most of my dinner behind. I don't think we will be back.

Food was good but service was ridiculous. Slow, inattentive teenagers seem like they run the place. From the ladies, margaritas were terrible.

Ordered 2 bacon cheese burgers to go on 05/12/2023. It was 30 mins till they closed. At, first when I walked into place my order the young man said the kitchen was closed. Then, he said.... Would you please wait for one moment and walked back to the kitchen. Came back and said what would you like to order? I said I wanted 2 bacon cheese burger meals Togo. He, rang up my order which was over $20.00. I then went down to the local convenient store while they were preparing my meal. Or so I thought that they were. I came back to Melanie's bar grill to pick up my Togo order. When, it hadn't yet been made. Because, the young man that rang up my order told me that they were starting to prepare my 2 burgers and that it shouldn't be much longer. Mind you, I ordered my Togo order at 9:33p.m. I returned from the store back to Melanie's at 10:07p.m. I know for a fact that I sat there waiting for my meal another 10 minutes so that would have the time at 10:17p.m.He then brings my order finally to me. I go home. Open what I thought? Was going to be this flamebroiled hamburger meal with freshly cut french fries . Needless to say it was the total opposite. The hamburger itself was a pretty good sized 1/4 lbs so the hamburger patty was a pretty good size I will give them that. But, as far as everything else the burger meat had no flavor it tasted like it was fried instead of flamebroiled the bun was wet the salad fixing were stale and the french fries were frozen packaged fries.Now, I know that I should not have assumed that the burger would be flamebroiled or that the fries were freshly cut fries. But, for as long as I waited for my meal and what I paid for it. One could only assume.The worst hamburger I've eaten in a long time. I'm going today to take back the uneaten meal to Melanie's bar and grill. I do expect to get a full refund even though the young man never offered me a receipt. They should know their own hamburgers. Right?Well, I will give an update on how they handle my situation. I will say this. It will be interesting to say the least. Wether Melanie's bar and grill is truly 100% customer satisfaction or if they refuse to give me a refund because I don't have a receipt that I was never given in the first place. I can almost bet you that this mom and pop grill will refuse to give me a refund and will tell me that I'm on my own. This is why I will give an up date to see if Melanie's bar and grill is going to stand-up and do the Right thing instead of sending me on my way one really irritated disappointed customer ?
