Your county gravity, ranch everything else you order is homemade delish!! You have an older menu children's menu, very limited. Also to go daily special orders. You even have the choice to sit in AC, on the veranda or outside. Whatever you choose your view will calm down. If you eat, they have a pretty gift shop. I thought it was worth the 20 minutes drive to LaVernia.
Service and food are amazing! Aerial spoke to us through the ordering process and the shop in general. The bread for fried mushrooms is the best I ever had. The ranch is real buttermilk ranch. The house of Salad was fresh and large. The mesquite Burger was huge and very good. And finally, the bacon cheeseries were brilliant. Can't wait to try their other articles.
The food was super fresh and delicious. Prices were somewhat high compared to other restaurants in the area. The children chicken strips and pommes were $7.49. I want to try a salad at the next visit. My daughter and I had a burger. The bungalow was made home. The young lady with our order was very helpful and polite.
Sitting outside in their shielded veranda, overlooking a herd of grazing cows and their calves is a very relaxing experience. The meat is excellent, tasty and high quality. It is grown locally on a ranch almost next door. Try the blue cheese homemade potato chips and order it with jalapenos. It's great! The mesquite mix coffee is also good. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and customers are also. There is also a beautiful gift shop that people think in LA Vernia. This wonderful place is the 30-minute drive from San Antonio. Poke also through some of the other sweet shops in the city.
I've lived in Texas all my life, so I know everyone has their opinion on what makes a good chicken fried steak. Of all the places I've visited and adored, this place... THIS rustic, country outfitted beauty-of-a-gem has the BEST chicken fried steak! If you want hand breaded, well seasoned, flaky, fresh chicken fried steak this is the place to experience just that. The hand cut fries are also a plus, and the gravy is as perfect as southern gravy could ever taste. The best view is at the screened in back porch area. You can watch the sunset and their cows dance on by. Customer service is always top notch, and don't forget to buy a knick knack on the way out (the place is decorated with things for purchase) Who ever you beautiful people are I promise if you NEVER close, I will continue to tell people about the wonderful chicken fried steak that you serve!
