The customer service was outstanding, and the facilities were spotless. If I could give this family-owned restaurant 10 stars, I would! I highly recommend it to anyone in the area. If you find yourself in Olympia, Washington, make sure to plan a meal here.
I absolutely love this restaurant! The cod and coleslaw are fantastic, and their fried chicken is one of my favorites. The gumbo is incredible and tastes just like home-cooked meals, making the prices very reasonable. Since well-prepared meals take time, make sure to visit when you have a bit of time to wait for your food. The lobby is a bit small, and the parking isn't ideal for larger vehicles that often park there. Otherwise, I would definitely give it 5 stars! Just a heads up: they are closed on Tuesdays.
I experienced a long wait, but I don’t mind waiting for freshly prepared food. Everything was delicious and fresh, except for my fries, which seemed to have been sitting out for a little while; they weren't bad, though. The service was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was very family-friendly. I can’t wait to visit again and try more items from the menu. Overall, I’d rate the food 5/5!
However, there's a significant drawback: actually getting to eat there. Out of the last six times I've attempted to dine here, I've been turned away four times. I always arrive at least an hour before their lunch break or closing time, and I even try to place takeout orders well in advance, but if I'm ever less than an hour early, I get turned away. I've consistently arrived at least 45 minutes ahead of time, and I've even offered to wait longer for my food if they're busy. I truly love this place – the food, the people, and the atmosphere – but I just wish it were easier to actually dine or order food.
Best hush puppies we’ve had in Washington! They’re so good, you don’t need a dipping sauce for it. The food reminds me of growing up in Georgia. Besides the excellent hush puppies, good catfish, good fries, good shrimp, good sweet tea, and good coleslaw. We didn’t get to try anything else. Staff maybe short so come when you’re not in a rush, but the people are friendly.Parking: Easy for our trailer to park.
