Le Bouillon Specialite Fondue - Lachute

I am a major foodie and Le Bouillon does not disappoint. Try whatever your server recommends. Scallops in (light) vanilla sauce with prosciutto CHIPS! Heavenly.

We went during our summer holiday. And were pleasantly surprised of the decor, the amazing service, and the food. And the fries..... a must. As well as the Salmon Tartare.

This is the kind of restaurant you would expect to find in Montreal, not a small town like Lachute. It has excellent service with perfect food. The Caesar salad is wonderful and just the right size for a starter. The cheese fondue is outstanding, and...the others fondues, including chocolate, are great too. Portion sizes are perfect. And the prices are fairly reasonable.

We have dined at Bouillon for lunch multiple times and, while the atmosphere is lovely and upscale, with friendly and attentive servers, the food quality is often lacking, sometimes very lacking. The consistent issue is that every dish we have tried at Bouillon is overly salted, sometimes to the point of being inedible. We keep hoping that our next meal will be better, but unfortunately, it seems that is not the case. We have sampled various items on the menu, including specials and à la carte options, and have always been left disappointed. Even if the food had less salt, we doubt it would reach a level where we would consider returning for another meal.

I was here on two occasions, once as a couple romantic evening and another for my birthday with friends and family. Food is delicious, busy restaurant and prices are average. The not so good...on both occasions service was horrible, I can understand being busy but...not to the extreme we had. The food, on both occasion the restaurant was out of something, the first time they were missing Bison and the second time Shrimp and shrimp make up most of the menu. The side dishes, they offer a variety (rice, bake potato, fries.....sliced potato chips but only if you ask) and if they're out they will replace at their will without your consent. Fondue dipping sauces, our initial visit we had the choice, the second visit they told us that the sauces were matched to the meats. Its a shame that there is a many negatives because I love a beautiful fondue restaurant where you can spend time with family and friends. To each their opinion and I would encourage you to make your own but please keep in mind the service unless the owner makes the necessary changes to improve.
