Marion's Eatery - Lacombe

Been a while due to Covid restrictions and life stuff, but we managed to get to Marion's for the Sunday buffet again after a long absence. Happy that they still offered a buffet and as usual was a great meal. Food is homemade, delicious and we were so glad that we went. Fresh pot of coffee and we were all set. Thank you for a very delicious and friendly meal.

My Hubs and I were visiting family in Lacombe and were looking for a place to grab some breakfast. This cafe is attached to the Lacombe Motor Inn so the restaurant was fairly busy when we went in at 9:30 with some teams and travellers in presence. We really like to try new places (new to us) and love going local, but this was a really strange experience... we got one of the last tables in the back where I had a fake plant resting on my head the entire meal. They need to ditch the plastic plants. Another strange thing is there was zero background noise. No radio, no music, nothing. What is strange about that? Every word we said echo 'ed through the entire restaurant. Instead of strange, maybe 'creepy ' is a better word. I really can 't put my finger on it, but it had a really weird vibe. We waited, which felt like forever, for our meals and the 2 servers obviously couldn 't keep up an adequate service level by anyone 's standards. Prices are 't bad, but not great either. The Server 'rang us up ' at the till up front so we never did get to review our bill and I am fairly certain we didn 't get the Seniors Discount on my MIL 's meal. At that point it really didn 't matter, we just wanted to get out of there. We won 't be returning. A&W has a better breakfast at a better price if you are out of options.

Very clean!! Had the beef dipped with salad. Salad was fresh and delicious. The reef dip was also good. Dining room is dated. The waitress was kind. Food: 5 Service: 3 atmosphere: 3
