The Backyard Grill - Lagos

Excellent. The main course was beyond delicious; I would rank it as some of the finest pasta I've ever had. Even better was the chocolate cake dessert; I'll never forget how good it was. Staff treated us with kindness and completely served our requirements. I am very excited to return!

My experience at this restaurant was incredible, and even weeks and months later, I can still vividly remember it. It’s a wonderfully relaxed spot to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of Lagos.

My last visit was in 2019, but based on that positive experience, I decided to return to Backyard for a fine dining lunch. I still love the ambiance and the attentive service. The chef perfectly prepared the lamb chops. It was a satisfying meal, and I would definitely recommend it for a gathering with friends or family. I hosted a farewell event here in 2018, and it remains one of the best experiences I've had.

It seems that Backyard is struggling to keep up with the competition. Once a popular spot for watching football with friends, each visit feels like a step down, and their customer base is noticeably shrinking. The maintenance has declined, and it's now common to find that menu items are unavailable. The staff no longer wear uniforms, and there are reports of malfunctioning POS devices, leading them to request bill payments through personal accounts, which raises concerns about potential scams targeting the bar owners. I would only recommend going here if it's the only option available.

The chicken wings still stand out in my memory, even though it's been a while since I last visited.
