Trattoria Vecchia Milano - Lagos

Why did they close, anyone know ? Our favourite lagos restaurant and Carlos and family always looked after us with superb food

We have been supporting Vecchia Milano for many years and would like to consider ourselves loyal customers, but we had an extremely poor experience on this occasion. We appreciate things were busy and it's possible they may have been short of staff, but the menu seemed much lighter and even when we were shown our table, we had to wait to ask for some drinks and details of the specials. In between this time, other people were seated and served before us. A basket of snacks was provided as usual but some of ours were stale. When our order was taken, I was told that my request was not available on the menu, so I chose steak instead. It was genuinely nice, but it wasn't what I really wanted. The wine we ordered was also unavailable, so nothing was going our way. What made matters worse, another table then had the dish that I was told was unavailable. I even asked the Owners son who confirmed what it was. I did reach out to Carlos the owner because sometimes things go wrong but he didn't reply, which is a pity because we like to support the local restaurants but there are plenty more around.

During our trip through Algarve, we had such an amazing supper at Trattoria Vecchia Milano. The staff was friendly, funny, professional and full of good advice/suggestions. We recommend the Mozzarella, Tomato and Basilico Burrata (Impressive), the Birra Anima, the Foccacia Buffala and Tomato, the Tiramisu and the Zabbaione. The terrace on the roof is THE Italian place to be in Lagos ! Judith Pierre

The best authentic italian food in Lagos. It is a must try if you are in Lagos. Go for the daily suggestions of the chef (u Will never regret) and try the tiramisu (the best i have ever had in my life).

I have been to Lagos many many times and not once have I missed Trattoria Vecchia Milano. It's the best restaurant in Lagos, the food is superb and the service is outstanding the atmosphere is varm, friendly and the terrace whit the sunset is magic. I promise you will not be disappointed!
