South Swell Donuts - Laguna Beach

When I come here, I notice how most people have a bright smile. Why is that? So many reasons... but above all, you make South Swell Donuts unique. I'll make it a secret for you. I come here every chance I get and order the Jalapeno ham and cheese croissant for breakfast, the Croissant sandwich for lunch, and a donut for dessert. But it's all right here. The cronut is a treat. Have fun.

Oh, my! That was my first visit. South Swell is amazing. You don't need my Puny words. Just try. I had a donut this morning. I might be back for a sandwich today. Very friendly service!!!

Pho and Donuts? Sure, why not! At South Swell Donuts there are two of my favorite things: Pho and Donuts! And it is particularly comforting on a rainy day for someone visiting from the city like me. It was a rainy afternoon when I turned to my trusted Yelp app to search for a Pho spot in the area. Surprisingly, South Swell Donuts appeared on my feed and I began to penetrate the Yelp photos and reviews of this shop. I was sold after reading a few reviews and I knew I had to try it. South Swell Donuts is located in Laguna Beach on PCH between 2 and 3. There are limited street parkings in front of the store, as well as the hills from the corner of the road. After sniffing a parking lot, I went in with my mother and we were having a friendly, “Hello, Honey!” This friendly owner was Jackie and she was the sweetest lady! We asked about her pho, but, with our luck and mother nature, Jackie told us that they had sold out of the pho earlier the day because of popular demand and rainy weather. Don't worry because we could take some donuts back. Jackie recommended we try her cronut we have 2, as well as some spins and Apple Fritte. We also picked up milk to drink with our donuts. For a family donut shop their twisted donuts are on the smaller size; but they tasted incredibly delicious! There is something about them that tastes much milky or creamier with a fluffy dough. It is definitely not like the hollow raised donuts with only sugar — South Swell donuts are a step over Mama-and-Pop donuts shop donuts. Your Cronut is definitely a MUSS here! It is so dense, crispy, but fluffy and overall only good! Their donuts are not excessively sweet as Krispy Kreme, but they have the same melt-in-your-mouth consistency. Their donuts are not complex in taste like Side Car Donuts but are classic in their flavors. I was really happy with her donuts and I will definitely be over again when I'm in the area! Jackie's customer service is enough to give you back for another visit and hopefully next time I will be able to pack a bowl of her pho (rain or shine)!

Something else. I enjoyed the donuts that were at industry prices. I tried the simple cake and glazed swirl. The lady who runs it is really nice. 5 stars
