The fish was cooked fresh while we waited, and we were told it would take about 10 minutes. True to their word, it was served to us shortly after by a very friendly lady. We enjoyed our meal sitting outside on the wall. Both the fish and chips were cooked to perfection, and the portions were generous for the price, especially considering the current times. I’ve seen many fish and chip shops close down, but it’s refreshing to find one that’s thriving in this small town and truly supports local business.
This is likely the best value fish and chip shop in the Highlands, offering similar options to those found in other major areas of Scotland. The quality of the food is also impressive, making it highly recommended for reasons beyond just the price.
I ordered the fish and chips, and I have to say it was a good dish. Considering the location, I thought the prices were typical for the area. There were some comments about it being expensive, but I believe that many cheaper places serve either a small piece of fish with a large portion of chips or offer low-quality frozen fish. In this case, the prices matched the quality of what I received.
