Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with both the food and the service. Charging $16 for pancakes is hard to justify, especially when the view—while nice—comes from a modest terrace with a limited outlook on the lake. My pancakes were burned on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Our server, though attractive, was noticeably absent and slow, making the wait for our food feel endless. I wish I could say I'd return, but despite the lovely lake view and terrace, my experience leaves me feeling reluctant to come back.
The menu promised an exciting culinary experience, with unique breakfast options including a combination of shrimp and caviar. However, my overall experience fell short of my expectations. The easiest way to summarize it is through a list of positives and negatives: **Positives:** - Incredible view of the lake. **Negatives:** - They ran out of French bread (and thus French toast and Monte Cristo) by 11:00 a.m. on a Sunday brunch – how is that even possible? Did someone really come in and order all the French toast beforehand? It reflects poor planning. - The waiter repeatedly had to return because he forgot to ask me questions about my order. - When the food was served, the staff confused the dishes among different tables. This is unusual for a fine restaurant, where servers typically ensure everything is organized. - Three other tables around us voiced complaints about their meals and/or service, with one table having an item removed from their bill and another returning a pasta dish because it was overcooked. - The lemon ricotta pancakes for $16 were oddly mushy, lacking the expected texture. - Service was slow; it took 30 minutes for our breakfast to arrive, which is unusual as breakfasts are typically served quickly. The beautiful view helped mitigate my frustration. - Our reservation was mishandled, and valet parking felt unnecessary given the large availability of parking spaces. Overall, while Bin 189 has the potential to be an exceptional dining experience, my visit was marred by several missteps that need addressing.
We had exceptional service and food. Felt like a Vip. Thank you.
We had a wonderful dining experience with delicious food and excellent service! Our server, a cheerful young woman with wavy brown hair, was absolutely delightful. We enjoyed clam chowder, buffalo cauliflower, ravioli, tiramisu, and some red wine. Overall, it was a very enjoyable outing.
This bar and restaurant is absolutely fantastic! Steve, the new manager, truly made our visit the highlight of our trip. He introduced us to a great selection of new liqueurs and provided excellent food recommendations. The cocktails he served could easily compete with my favorites in LA or NY. If you haven't tried them yet, I highly recommend the filet and ravioli. The soup of the day was a hearty steak chili, which was perfect for a cold and rainy night. It pairs wonderfully with their impressive selection of Scotch whisky. I'm very pleased to see this restaurant thriving under new management and can't wait to return!
