We overheard the staff loudly talking about how they get yelled at nightly because tables are consistently unprepared at the scheduled times. I will be advising my employer to steer clear of this place for any future retreats. We ended up ordering pizza delivery instead of enjoying steak at the restaurant.
Wow! Everything about this restaurant was fantastic! We both had Delmonico steak for dinner along with two sides. My husband declared it "the best steak he's ever had!" and I couldn't agree more! The experience was enhanced by our amazing waitress, Melissa! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely attentive. We were fortunate to have her serving us! She recommended both our steaks and the delicious key lime pie for dessert. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience!
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary dinner at this restaurant. When I made the reservation, I specifically requested a table by the window to enjoy the view, and I was assured that my request would be honored. Unfortunately, upon arrival, the hostesses were quite rude and informed us that other requests for window tables took precedence over ours. Seriously?! The food was enjoyable, and our waiter was fantastic, but I can't see us returning in the future. I'm not willing to spend hundreds of dollars at a place that can't even fulfill a simple request for a special occasion, especially after being promised it would be accommodated.
We decided to make the trip from the Southwest suburbs of Chicago for a little indulgence. We visited this restaurant before COVID and had been saying we wanted to return ever since. Once again, they exceeded our expectations. Our dining experience was absolutely satisfying. The filet was cooked to perfection and incredibly tender, while the New York strip was equally well-prepared. The appetizers and sides were simply outstanding. There are many steakhouses closer to us, but none come close to this one. I've tried Ruth's and Shula's, which I found to be overrated. It's no wonder we traveled such a distance for what is truly the BEST STEAKHOUSE! I hope to make this a regular outing for special occasions or simply to enjoy a FABULOUS steak and dining experience. I really hope they keep everything just as it is.
As for the food, the selection was quite unusual. They only offered premade eggs Benedict, which consisted of rubbery eggs on bacon and a hard biscuit. The strata appeared to be a few days old, and there was no option for other egg dishes or an omelet station. The only sides were a dry, salty corned beef hash, and the cinnamon rolls tasted like they came straight from a Pillsbury can—though they were quite good. I’m not sure who Scotty is, but I wouldn’t want to associate with the fried chicken; it was heavily breaded to hide the dry meat. On a positive note, the prime rib was good, and I have no complaints there. I could elaborate further on how disappointing the food was, but I think you get the picture. The atmosphere is lovely, with a view overlooking the water, which sadly doesn't match the quality of the food.
