Charlie's Kitchen - Lake George

My husband, a family friend, and I had a wonderful dinner recently at Charlie's. I ordered the Chicken Marsala, which was cooked to perfection. My husband chose the Veal Saltimbocca and found it delicious, while our guest had the Haddock and also raved about it. We've dined at this restaurant many times and always give it high marks. The service was excellent; we never felt rushed. Our server was friendly and well-informed about the menu and the evening's specials.

The food was delicious overall, though it could have used a bit more seasoning. The cocktails could also benefit from higher-quality spirits; for the price, a better vodka than Tito's would be appreciated—a potato vodka would have been a nice option. I didn’t get to try any desserts, and there wasn’t a proper picture menu or samples available, so I can’t provide feedback on them. However, the salad and bread were very fresh. I would definitely consider returning!

We are bewildered by the good ratings this place has received. We would give it two thumbs down—both the food and service were mediocre at best. We were extremely disappointed. The prime rib lacked flavor and had about 30-40% fat! Don't waste your time or money here.

Laura the hostess is wonderful, very attentive and always smiling. Our server Nico was also great. Nice place to eat on the strip if you're looking more than just the regular bar and grill type of food.

All the lake George restaurants have such mixed reviews so it's hard to decide where to try. This place was pretty good. We went for breakfast with 2 kids and an infant. They have a basic kids menu but also cereal which I appreciate because my 8 year old doesn't like average breakfast foods. My husband loved his corn beef hash. Portion wasnt huge but still filling. Only negative was the coffee was not good. It had no flavor. Not sure if they use a cheap brand or it was old but it wasn't good. It's an easy walking distance between hotels. Not much space for parking. Also gets pretty busy by 9 am. Overall we would go back.
