Cold Stone Creamery - Lake in the Hills

If I could have done 0 stars I would have. Sent in a complaint about a substandard custom birthday cake on the website and the owner Mitch called me back. HORRIBLE customer service !!!! . Not once did he apologize, he berated my complaint and then was patronizing. I told him I was at work and couldn’t talk long he said “ well I am at work too.” He sarcastically said “ we are gonna crank up our standards and out out a better cake to make you happy “. Who does that ? I had to tell him again I needed to go but he kept talking.The cake was horrible. The decorations extremely poor. It didn’t look like anything on their website. The filling was non existent, the Mix in’s to the ice cream of strawberry and blueberry were minimal, there were no clear layers of cake and ice cream and the strawberries on top were so small. I even thought one looked made up with frosting. The handwriting elementary and didn’t even include a name.I can’t believe an owner would have such a lack of customer service. I won’t ever be going back.

Delicious icecream. Creamy as a gelato and loaded with flavor. Excellent variety of regular and fancy combinations along with a wide array of toppings.

What the heck! My husbands is on the left and mine is on the right…. Did you have something against this flavor? I usually have to put mine in a bowl do to the extreme overpacking. So disappointing to open the bag and see this. And we paid the same amount we always do for not nearly the same amount of ice cream.

Really good icecream here! Had a vanilla based icecream with oreos! Only complaint I have it that the vanilla ice cream was on the sweet side. It wasn't very good but because it was cold as ice(the icecream) it numbed my mouth so I couldn't really taste the too sweet vanilla

Cold stone has always been the dessert place that we go to when we’re feeling good financially :)Although it is a little bit pricier than Culvers or BR, cold stone seemingly never disappoints.Every time I’ve ever been to this location, they have been kind and courteous.I wish they used the bell for tips and then sang afterwards but I can understand that that would get tiresome after a while as employees.By the way, I’ve always just gotten the “like it” size and I’ve always felt really good about my portion decision afterwards.Stop by and sit on the patio for Starbucks right next door! Maybe that’s illegal?? But man it’s great for summer nights.
