Buddy's On The Beach - Lake Odessa

I have only dined there for dinner and haven't tried bowling yet. Buddy's has an excellent staff and delicious food.

This was my first time at Buddies, and I have to say, our waitress Misty was fantastic! We both ordered the cod fish basket, and it was delicious with generous portions. The fries were amazing too—there was so much that we couldn't finish them all! Misty suggested that if we had an air fryer, the leftovers would reheat really well. I definitely recommend Buddies, and we'll be coming back; it's worth the drive from Lansing!

We always look forward to dining at this restaurant whenever we're in the area, but our recent visit was quite disappointing. We ordered appetizers that arrived cold, and then we ordered a meat lovers pizza with mushrooms. The waitress informed us that they had only prepared a mushroom pizza, so instead of making it correctly, they simply added the meat toppings to the already cooked mushroom pizza. To make matters worse, they used a type of salami on it, and when we asked about it, we were told it was their pepperoni. We had already ordered another pizza with pepperoni, and the two were definitely not the same. Overall, we were very disappointed with this experience.

Buddy on the Beach is essentially Lakewood’s Applebee’s with Bowling. The big difference is that there is clearly a hometown feel. The servers and staff get to know you and you feel like family. The food is consistently good. They always have amazing daily specials like Fried Chicken Wraps or seasonal specials like Cabbage and Corned Beef. Once seated service is quick. The servers often go of their way get you what you need. My only concern is that there is occasionally there is a lack of On Stage and Backstage awareness. Certain conversations and opinions should not be shared around customers and guests. You can be authentic as an employee without losing professionalism or oversharing. People are always watching and listening. It’s an area thar needs little focus. Overall it shouldn’t take away from your experience because the cooks are pretty amazing.

Great food, great service, sat down right away at noon on a Saturday.
