The dining experience is excellent. It can get quite busy on weekends, but they are able to accommodate everyone according to the rules. The service is friendly. It's a fun experience arriving by boat, but the restaurant is also easily accessible by car.
I was here as part of a business event. the meals were oriented to 60 people, and it was as if there were only 2. the menu options were plentiful. the meal was all hot. the Cornish-Hen-Dinner was juicy and the Rib-Dinner was. from the bone scrumptious. the next morning was an breakfast buffet with many choices, including fresh fruit.
Maybe it was the size of our group, 15. The ordered steak as one of the choices. almost everyone who ordered it rarely. the orders came to the wrong people when the orders came back, the kitchen did nothing. the chef might have been. in a snuck. independent of this it was not a good experience and I would not recommend it.
We glided silently into the Port Cunnington Lodge dock aboard the S.S.Bigwin as part of their dinner/Cruise pkg....can’t think of a better way to arrive! The beautiful bay and manicured grounds of the Lodge are impressive as viewed from the upper deck of the Bigwin...We were greeted and seated very quickly by the friendly and helpul staff and given a table by the window with a nice view of the lake. The menu offered a varied selection of all 3 courses included in our dinner/cruise pkg. The drinks list was also varied and the prices were quite reasonable. Our group of 3 all chose the braised lamb shank as the main course and I had a very good Caesar salad with freshly cooked bacon bits, and we shared 3 different desserts (my favourites were the strawberry-rhubarb crumble and the lemon cake with raspberry). All of the food was delicious as was the Reif house red wine, which was so good I was forced to have a 2nd. glass. If ever in the area again (by land or sea) I will definitely drop in for dinner or drinks.
