I had to buy the kitchen staff a six pack! I will come back every time I visit! highly recommended!
My husband and I visited for the first time for lunch. If some place has calamari we try it, so we have experience comparing it. It was probably the best calamari we 've ever had. I think it was a rice flour tempura type coating. But I 've never had calamari before where, when it was deep-fried you couldn 't tell because it was absolutely grease-less. It was perfectly done and not chewy. A nice Asian dipping sauce (not sweet chili sauce). We shared our calamari and then the bibimbap. The Bibimbap came in a sizzling hot cast-iron bowl served on a wooden board. The rice was nice and crispy and tender flank steak. We weren 't going to have dessert but then I saw 'banana jar ' so I asked about it and we got that too. Basically home-made banana pudding in a jar with fresh banana slice, whipped cream and toasted vanilla wafer crumbs. Delicious. We live in Oregon City, and only happened to be nearby after an appointment in the area. We will definitely go out of our way to return, if only for the calamari! Oh, and the wait staff was attentive, friendly, and efficient! A really outstanding experience.
Decided to pop in with a couple friends for the special burger week burger. First and foremost, customer service was very good. The staff were relatively attentive despite the burst of customers, and even allowed us to order a Burger week burger to go, Even though it was stated that it was against policy. But unfortunately the negatives grossly outweighed the positives. We found ourselves waiting a relatively interesting amount of time (37 minutes) for three grilled burgers... Despite coming in at the time of the restaurants opening. When the burgers did arrive, I couldn 't help but notice the obvious contrast from the image on the display... Sesame seed bun instead of gorgeously toasted brioche, and Unlike the burger, the chili that was drooped on top was the star of the show, despite it tasting like Hormel chili with a bit of extra seasoning. The burger itself, very thin, was overdone and dry, charred around the edges. Which was inconsistent as only two of our three burgers appeared to be overcooked. The image also displayed beautiful well-placed green onion strings, instead we received chopped soggy green onion topped on the overseasoned chili, topped on the overcooked razor thin burger patty. I won 't say that I expected more for $8, but I did expect to be given what I was offered. As far as I 'm concerned, the burger was bait and switch.
I visited for the first time during Portland Wing Week 2021 to try the Gochujang Funk wings (pictured). I have now tried all 24, and I think these are still my personal favorite. I just particularly liked the flavor profile. These crispy, sticky, fried chicken wings feature a funky, tangy, and medium-spicy Korean-inspired gochujang sauce. Gochujang is red chili paste, made with chili powder, glutinous rice, and fermented soybean powder. Also, they held their heat surprisingly well! The staff was particularly friendly and professional; I am genuinely impressed, and plan to visit again, to try some of their normal menu items.
