Delicious meal and wonderful service! I would definitely recommend the sourdough pancakes. The rest of my group ordered the egg sandwich and other dishes that were just as good ?
We look forward to getting sandwiches here while on vacation every year . This year was clearly a huge disappointment. Not only was the lady very curt and crabby which has always been true, but the quality and value for price of the food has taken a nose dive ! A brief, polite( on my end) conversation about my no longer offered, but still on the chalkboard favorite sandwich, chicken Gorgonzola was met with frustration and down right rudeness. When we opened our sandwiches, back at our cabin, we found the bread was VERY stale and sandwiches most definitely 1/2 the size of previous years. I asked for a half sandwich and got a sandwich obviously made from the the first or second quite small piece in the loaf, that I could barely bite into because it was so hard, and literally only 3 bites!! I know homemade bread can have a different texture, but this was indeed stale! Quite expensive too for 3 bites! Very sad our tradition ended on such a sour note. No quality control here, for sure. Off day, perhaps? Maybe, but I thinkwe’ll be looking elsewhere from now on. Respect for customers sorely lacking here. This place needs an upgrade starting with quality control and polite, cordial customer service!
S place is like being in a Seinfeld episode set in the Adirondacks. Bring your appetite and a thick skin! Be ready for the cashier's salty attitude and the cook's tasty dishes. If you want caffe lattes and petit fours served with simpering smiles, go somewhere else. If you want a plate of belly-busting food and a loaf of hearty sourdough bread to go, and are entertained rather than repelled by acerbic service, this place is for you!
