City Star Family - Lake Wales

I visited City Star for the first time and ordered online for pickup. The website asked if I wanted my order ASAP or for a later time, so I selected 5 o'clock. When I arrived at 5 to pick it up, the staff member informed me that my order had actually been ready for a while and suggested I should have called to check. I explained that I had scheduled it for 5 o'clock, but she replied that they don't adhere to the specified times and just prepare orders as they come in. I mentioned that this isn't a good way to do business, to which she said it wasn't their fault but rather "them," although I wasn't sure who she meant. Regardless, the food was cold, and the French fries were undercooked. The catfish was tasty but also cold. I definitely won't be ordering online for a later time from here again.

This restaurant is fantastic! The portion sizes are huge and the food is incredibly delicious. It's hands down the best chicken parmesan I've ever tasted. However, the garlic toast wasn't great. The waitstaff has consistently been attentive and friendly. Overall, I would rate the food a solid 5 out of 5!

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The catfish was exceptional, and the fresh food definitely stood out. I really enjoyed the fried squash, which was delicious. The service was spot-on throughout my visit. However, I would advise against asking for substitutions, as the chef seemed quite upset and expressed that frustration. A simple “I’m sorry, we can’t accommodate that” would have sufficed. Despite that, it’s a wonderful spot to dine in Lake Wales!

Unfortunately a bad experience. The only thing that was good was the waitress even though she got drink order wrong. Salad served was frozen . Main meal was a huge portion of Shrimp Alfredo but had a peculiar foul odor. Taste was even worse. We didn't eat it. The place definitely needs an uplift. Broken shades etc. Looks like at one time it was a happening place. The waitress and gentlemen at the check out stand was very nice about our issue and there was no charge. We won't go back....

This place had the absolute worst breakfast. The food was burnt and tasted disgusting. My orange juice was awful and the strawberries on my French toast was literally just canned pie filling. Also our waitress spent most of the time socializeing and ignoring us.
