There weren 't that many servers so it was a little hard to get their attention, but they were so nice, very thoughtful and friendly. Food was solid. I had the black linguini Rustico pasta with shrimp and calamari and my friend was able to 'customize ' a vegetarian pasta to include mushroom rather than eggplant or something, and use olive oil. Was very nice of them to accommodate! My friend also asked for hot water and they gave her a nice little teapot for that. The bread was piping hot and soft. If I had come in with more of an appetite, I would have asked for more.. Pricing was reasonable. They also take reservations. Would come again!
Ate here for the first time tonight (Sunday, 6pm-ish). Service was excellent and courteous. Food was wonderfully delicious. I had the Gnocchi all Vodka...the gnocchi was light-weight, melt-in-your-mouth. The sauce was flavorful and very well-balanced between sweet, tangy, and creamy. We also ordered the Raviola Vegetale which was equally light delicious. Overall the experience was wonderful and worth repeating. Some might find the portion on the ravioli small for the price, but considering the fresh ingredients and skilled preparation we felt it was a suitable trade off. Neither of us left hungry...
Background: We arrived around 8:20 on the Thursday evening after The movie. Experience: As soon as we walked through the door, We were greeted with a smile and a warm 'Good evening '. The restaurant was active (80. occupied), yet with a soothing vibe in the background. We were asked about our choice of seating and taken immediately. After sitting at a lovely table for a few moments, the Maitre d mr Nino. returned to offer us a more private table which had just become available. Because we had been seated between two parties well into their meals, we chose to look at the other option. I 'll call this 'attentive-plus '. We accepted a lovely table in the back corner, private, quiet, secluded and very nice. We were then greeted by our server, Luis, who from moment one presented as a truly professional care taker. His greeting, suggestions and effort to enhance our experience at Rustico show his commitment not only to his profession, but also to the establishment where he has settled in. His depth of menu knowledge and ability to convey that to us us further enhanced the experience. This continued all night! No rush, no hurry, just sit back, relax and enjoy this moment. From the Pappardelle and Veal, it was all timed and presented in the highest manner of class imaginable. Lest I not forget the bread and pesto served beforehand. Fantastico ! We enjoyed our meals immensely, with a nice pause afterwards, only to be treated to an amazing dinner The plate of carefully selected dessert topped off an extremely memorable experience. Ok, so I 'm a new reviewer, but with world class travel and dining experience, it took Rustico to make me put it in writing, Don 't miss this one!
Adding to the list of 'Memorable Meals '. This was a terrific restaurant! So quaint, I truly felt like I was in Italy! The service was 'interesting '. It was good, but unusual because I think we had 4 different people service our table at any given time. They all had strong italian accents and were 'characters ', which added to the fun. They made good recommendations on both food and wine. The veal with blue cheese was delectable. The truffle ravioli was exceptional and hard to find. The pesce pasta was huge and also great, as was the chicken. We can 't wait to return!
Hands down, the best. OK, here's the deal: I'm an Italian American originally from New Jersey. I come from a large Italian family filled with Tonys, Michaels, Josephs, Theresas you get the idea. My wife and I ate at Rustico Italiano again this past Saturday and I cannot think of a complaint! Is it cheap? No, but worth every penny. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was wonderful, including the fellow who explained the specials. As he described the Peppers Onions with Sausage he proclaimed that if it wasn't the best I'd ever had, he'd take off his shirt and quit. He's still there. And yes, it was that good. (The pistachio cheesecake was insane! Look bottom line: the best Italian food you're likely to find. Go. Enjoy.
