Dined here Friday evening, we had reservations for 6 people at 630 pm. A couple very kindly moved so our party could sit together. We were greeted by Reed, he's very pleasant, polite, and accommodating. Christian, is also very polite and shared he was new. We started out with garlic and plain edamame. Both delicious and we truly enjoyed the garlic. Also the octopus, cucumber and seaweed salad was excellent.I'm Gluten Free so enjoyed a roll without rice. Very tasty. Others had eel roll, Shingo roll, duck ramen and they enjoyed but didn't rave about their choices. We brought two bottles of wine and we were charged two corkage fees to the tune of $30, that's a bit steep, especially since their wine list isn't all that great. I, personally, so wanted to like this place since the owners are taking over my beloved Orient Garden just a few miles northwest. We met the owner, told him we frequented Orient Garden weekly for past ten years. To be honest, he didn't seem to care. I won't go back to the current location of Shingo's but once the new location is up and running, I'll give it a try, but they have big shoes to fill and, at this moment, I don't have the confidence they will come close. My sons own a restaurant and recognizing repeat and regular customers is essential. I understand this owner doesn't know me but he made no overtures to ensure my loyalty to his new undertaking. He didn't even give us his name or say I look forward to seeing you again in our new location.Time will tell.
I got 2 orders of hamachi Kama. I came and one of the orders were undercooked. I usually am not picky and do eat raw fish but for hamachi Kama I did not expect that. The outside was good but the inside it was nearly impossible for me to cut into the skin because it was stuck together. I called and told them one of my orders was uncooked. He said it wasn’t supposed to be like that and asked if I can come back I said no. I drove there 25 mins and not going to go back and he said okay thank you. I just wish I was able to at least get a refund because I couldn’t eat one of my dishes lol.
The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is exceptional. They offers the freshest fish in the area, and their tuna is premium. Having visited numerous sushi restaurants, I can confidently say that Shingo is the best. Their Sushi Nachos are a unique and delicious creation that you must try. Additionally, their Tonkotsu Ramen is my all-time favorite, with a broth that is simply out of this world. Shingo has become our go-to sushi spot.
Been ordering here for years but I will not be dining here ever again. I ordered 5 rolls and only received 4. The roll I was missing was the cheapest one of the order. It was under $8. I called to let them know and I didn't even ask for a refund. I asked for a credit i can get it later. The owner agreed, hung up, then called me back to tell me I was mistaken. I'm so annoyed. I told the owner to forget it since he made such a huge deal saying the cost of the missing roll will come out of the staff's paycheck. All this all over a missing salmon California roll. All the other rolls were specialty and way more expensive. I was actually planning to eat here tomorrow for Ramen but I will not be coming here anymore. I'm so disappointed in the owner to make a huge deal over A SALMON CALIFORNIA ROLL.
