Don?t get me wrong, I understand costs have gone butmy bill after dinner at El Jardin is now 50% more expensive than other traditional Mexican restaurants in the area. Sadly, theplace is rarely ever busy anymore. I heard a table next to us complaining about the prices and charging for chips salsa so Iguess I?m not the only one?.sad bc they?ve been in the neighborhood so long and the food is decent.
The place is cozy, the food was amazing, but they need improvement with the server's, lack of communication was an issue. The server should pay more attention to the customers' drinks and orders. Made a lot of mistakes with our drinks , bringingsomething different was requested.
Food was terrible. My friend and I both got sick from eating here. Not only was food bad but we were overcharged. Our bill was $75 for 1 burrito and what was supposed to be 2 steak tacos. Waitress had no knowledge of menu options and took orderincorrectly. Do not recommend this restaurant. My stomach is still upset from eating here. Never again!!!! I GUESS ISHOULD'VE READ REVIEWS BEFORE. Do Not Eat Here!!!!!!!!!
This was the worst dining experience I?ve ever had. As soon as I walked in the vibe was not at all welcoming. I went in after a concert and the prices listed online were half of what they were charging in the restaurant. Made me pay $7 for a (very) smallbowl of chips and salsa. The food portions were not very big for paying more than $20 per plate (not including drinks). Theworst part was watching the owner bark commands at the servers that were doing an excellent job. I will never eat there againand I won?t recommend this place to anyone. There?s better places with better food and more reasonable prices that treat theiremployees like humans.
Chicago has some really great Mexican food! Unfortunately, this isn?t it. You can pay $70 for 2 margaritas, a quesadilla and a burrito with over cooked (boiled) chicken or, you can go literally anywhere else. That being said, the service was great.
